Ryan Reynolds has been cast to star in the new Green Lantern movie.
Reynolds recently starred as Deadpool in the movie X-Men Origins, Wolverine which led to a spinoff movie. He also starred along with Sandra Bullock in The Proposal which has made over $100 million since it’s debut in theatres.
DC Comic book hero, the Green Lantern, appointed to a special intergalactic troop of superheros by the guardians of the universe, sounds like a role that could be challenging for Reynolds.
Production on the movie will start in January 2010 with Martin Campbell directing.

I have waited a long time for a live-action adaptation of the Green Lantern, and it's finally going to happen.
I think Ryan Reynolds is an excellent casting choice as the hotshot pilot, Hal Jordan.
