Justin Bieber Did Not ‘Smash London Rehearsal Studio,’ Says Rep On False Claim

Justin Bieber and his dancers did not smash or trash speakers in a London rehearsal studio before performing at the BRIT awards last month, as has been alleged by the U.K.’s disgraced Mirror newspaper.

An insider close to Bieber’s team tells the Inquisitr that the claim is “completely untrue” and “BS.” Meanwhile, Mail Online reports a rep for Bieber categorically denied the allegation.

The bogus story is not surprising, given the source. Back in February, the Mirror published what it claimed was an “exclusive” interview with Bieber. In fact, it didnt’t. The tabloid just plagiarized the Telegraph’s previous profile with the singer, adding fabricated “quotes” and dialogue from Bieber’s Purpose: The Movement film.

On Saturday, March 12, the Mirror reported the Canadian “shocked staff at a London rehearsal studio last month, when thousands of pounds worth of expensive audio equipment was smashed up during a practice session.”

Tellingly, the tabloid didn’t name the rehearsal studio where the alleged trashing incident took place but claimed alleged damage to a set of speakers was “staggering” and that Bieber has been invoiced with a big bill to replace them.

The paper claims an alleged source told the outlet, “He was in a studio with his dancers, at considerable expense, but the four speaker system was in a right mess by the time he left.” It is claimed this happened before Bieber’s performance at the Brit awards.

The fictional insider added, “Obviously we added it to his bill – he probably won’t even notice the cost of it!”

To be clear: A source connected to Bieber’s camp has confirmed to the Inquisitr that the tabloid’s allegation that the singer smashed, trashed, or in any way damaged speakers in a London rehearsal studio is “completely untrue” and “BS.”

Even without those assurances, red flags in the Mirror’s account were revealed when it strayed into unintentional comedy. The rag wrote that Bieber was, “understood to have been with several of his backing dancers during the rehearsal session, so it’s possible they clattered into the equipment accidentally. (sic)”

High-end rehearsal studios are typically fitted throughout with CCTV. If the tabloid’s story were true, there would be no need for speculation as to whether or not Bieber and his dancers “clattered” into speakers. Video footage would verify that claim — or not. No such footage has surfaced.

In addition to the Mirror’s longstanding history of fabricating interviews and quotes, for which the paper has been called out numerous times by stars such as Matt LeBlanc, Louis Tomlinson, Kristen Stewart’s mother (Jules Stewart), to name a few, the latest Bieber headline reveals the outlet’s reasons for reporting a false claim. “Justin Bieber’s bad behaviour at London rehearsal studio is return to pop brat habits,” the tabloid trumpeted.

The opening sentence, “Just when we started to think Justin Bieber had turned a corner — he’s back to being the pop brat we all feared,” says it all.

The Mirror’s Bieber-reporting, like that of multiple lower-end media outlets, is intent on sensationalizing angles, headlines, or, as in the current alleged “smashed” speakers story, punting false claims, because the “Bieber Bad Boy” narrative is viewed as more lucrative and traffic-friendly.

Inevitably, other media outlets have repeated the Mirror’s non-credible story. And even though Bieber’s team have stated that there is no truth to the “trashed speakers” claim, it is likely that far fewer outlets will report that update than the original damaging allegation.

During 2015, Bieber apologized many times and gave candid interviews while acknowledging and taking responsibility his previous antics. He revealed his reconnection with Christianity, made ongoing personal changes, released his Purpose album, and is now moving through dates on his world tour.

Isn’t it unacceptable that a 22-year-old, who is clearly in a far healthier and happier place than he was in 2013-14, is being forced into a narrative that is no longer accurate because it sells better?
