Morena Baccarin And Ben McKenzie Welcome Baby Girl — Check Out Her Adorable Name!

Gotham co-stars Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie are having a baby girl!

The couple’s reps confirmed in a statement to USA Today that Morena and Ben welcomed a baby girl on March 2.

“Morena and Ben are so happy to welcome baby girl Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan on March 2,” reps Jennifer Allen and Rhett Usry said. “All are happy and healthy and appreciate the well-wishes.”

The name Morena and Ben gave their baby girl can be a mouthful, and it is as adorable as it is unique: Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan.

Baccarin, 36, and McKenzie, 37, have not spoken publicly about their relationship and the pregnancy until now. In September, McKenzie’s rep confirmed that Morena is pregnant with the OC actor’s first child. This confirmation was made just a couple of days after rumors of their romance surfaced online.

“You get to go to work with the person you love every single day, and it’s really nice,” Baccarin told ET in February. “I think we’d rarely get to see each other otherwise. So it’s really fun.”

Coincidentally, the respective characters Baccarin and McKenzie are playing in Gotham are also a couple. Even more amazing is the fact that the characters, James Gordon and Leslie Thompkins, are about to have their own baby in the current plotline of the TV show Gotham.

According to Morena Baccarin, Gotham’s plotline mirroring what’s happening between her and McKenzie in real life was a “total coincidence.”

“They were already planning on doing that with (our) characters when I got pregnant,” Morena told People. “When I told them they were like, ‘Okay, great!’ and I was like, ‘What?’ It worked out perfectly.”

Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan isn’t Morena Baccarin’s first child. She has a 2-year-old son, Julian, with estranged husband Austin Chick. Baccarin is currently in a legal battle against Austin for the custody of their child. According to legal court documents, Baccarin is set to appear for a deposition 30 days after the birth of his child with Ben McKenzie. Morena made it clear in the documents that she could not appear for a deposition while undergoing labor, as she requires mandatory bed rest within that period.

“I’m right where I should be. All I think about is my son, my family and my future family,” Baccarin told reporters. “There’s the story that people tell and the story that Mom tells – and [my son] will know what’s true. That’s all that matters.”

For now, the estranged couple have joint custody of Julius, but the 2-year-old boy is spending most of his time with his mother, who is currently filming in New York City.

In September, the Deadpool actress wrote in divorce papers, as reported in TMZ, “Today, I am in a new committed relationship. I am planning to re-marry. Also, I am 3 1/2 months pregnant.”

Baccarin appeared very pregnant when she appeared at the Deadpool press tour in February, calling herself “a million months” pregnant during her visit to Access Hollywood.

“I feel huge. I’m ready to pop,” Morena told reporters. “I’m like a million months pregnant — what’s to feel good?”

A couple of days before she gave birth to Frances, Baccarin told People that she was “feeling good” and that McKenzie was very much into playing the doting dad-to-be role.

“I’m finally at the point where I can chill. And Ben is the sweetest,” she said. “He’s giving me extra TLC and making sure I’m drinking water and taking care of myself.”

The Homeland actress recently hit it big playing opposite Ryan Reynolds in the smash hit superhero film Deadpool, which has earned $315 million to date.
