John Stamos Teases A Classic ‘Full House’ Character Could Return For ‘Fuller House’ Season 2

John Stamos is turning to fans for ideas for Fuller House Season 2. The Full House revival has been renewed for a second 13-episode run on Netflix, and Stamos is already thinking ahead as to where the show’s beloved characters will land. After news of the Netflix renewal was announced, John Stamos responded to a tweet from a fan, teasing that his classic character Stavros Katsopolis could make an appearance for an upcoming episode of the show. When the fan tweeted, “Please bring back Stavros,” Stamos responded that it was a good idea and that he might do it.

John Stamos is best known for playing Uncle Jesse on the original Full House series, but he also made a hilarious appearance in season 7 as Jesse’s creepy, con-artist cousin Stavros. We can’t imagine that Stavros aged as well as Uncle Jesse did, but it would be fun to see what he’s up to — and if he still has the hots for Jesse’s wife Becky (Lori Loughlin.)

While John Stamos could be doing double duty as Jesse and Stavros on Fuller House, the status of some other characters is still in question. Fans have been hoping that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will agree to return as youngest Tanner daughter Michelle in a future episode, but it sounds like Michelle will still be in New York running her fashion empire. In an interview with E! News, series star Bob Saget said the famous twins really have stepped away from the show because “they just didn’t really want to act that much, that’s not what they do.”

But series creator Jeff Franklin is still holding out hope for Michelle to return to the San Francisco hometown. Franklin told E! that he remains hopeful that at least one of the famous sisters will make a cameo for Season 2.

“I am still hopeful that Mary-Kate or Ashley or both of them will come back and be a part of it, even if it’s just for an hour. We miss that. Everybody does feel that hole in the family. But it’s like, all family reunions, there’s always somebody that doesn’t show up. But hopefully next time around, we’ll have them back.”

In an interview with People, Fuller House executive producer Bob Boyett said that if Michelle does return, the character would probably be played by Mary-Kate Oslen and not Ashley.

“Mary-Kate said, ‘It would have to be me [playing Michelle], because Ash doesn’t want to do it. But the timing is so bad for us.'”

One thing fans will definitely see on the second season of the Fuller House? More of the kids. The reboot features D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) as single moms, and they have four kids between the two of them. John Stamos told People that he has plans to expand the new Jackson, Max, and Ramona characters. (D.J.’s youngest son, Tommy, is still a baby.)

“Next season… I want to develop the kids more on the show. Have them carry a little more story, a little more emotional stuff.”

While John Stamos teased the kids will get more storylines, he didn’t comment on this bombshell: Joey (Dave Coulier) has a wife and kids back in Las Vegas. Showrunner Jeff Franklin told TV Line that while Joey’s family matters weren’t revealed in the first season of the show, his wife and kids could turn up for Season 2.

“We’ll get to see something from Joey [and his family] hopefully in future seasons, should they come out.”

For now, John Stamos and the rest of the cast are enjoying a nostalgic ride as they prepare for another season of the spinoff show.
