Kim Kardashian Lawsuit: ‘KUWTK’ Star Sued For Involvement In Car Accident, Source Reports

A car accident from Kim Kardashian’s past has come back to haunt her, and now the reality TV star finds herself as a defendant in a lawsuit.

Back on March 11, 2014, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was involved in a car accident on Sunset Blvd near Benedict Canyon in Beverly Hills. At the time, Kardashian and the other drive handled the accident between themselves. TMZ reports that Kardashian and the other driver even “hugged it out” after resolving the incident.

On Tuesday, however, the other driver filed a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian, alleging “sustained personal injuries.” The lawsuit was first reported by Gossip Cop.

According to Gossip Cop, the lawsuit was filed by Rafael Antonio Linares in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The lawsuit claims that Kim K crashed her Mercedes G-Wagon into his vehicle and provides few other details, though a Gossip Cop article from the time of the original incident reported that Kardashian hit Linares’ vehicle as she turned left at an intersection. According to the original Gossip Cop report, Linares drove straight through the intersection even though he allegedly had his right turn signal on.

Back in 2014, Linares and Kardashian were both able to drive their vehicles to the nearby Beverly Hills Hotel, Gossip Cop reported, where “they exchanged information and even hugged.” There were no tickets issued at the time of the incident.

Since the Kim Kardashian accident, Linares claims that he’s “sustained personal injuries which caused and will continue to cause pain, discomfort, and physical disability” to him, according to Gossip Cop. The lawsuit also asserts that Linares was “gainfully employed” prior to the accident with Kardashian but has since been “deprived of earnings,” Gossip Cop reports.

The lawsuit alleges that Kanye West’s wife was driving “negligently” at the time of the crash, according to New York Daily News.

The lawsuit doesn’t specify the amount Linares is seeking in damages. Instead, it appears as if Linares will seek compensation for his loss of income and the cost of litigation and compensation for past and future medical expense. TMZ reported that Linares said he had “suffered multiple injuries and has incurred expenses for physicians and surgeons.”

Additionally, Gossip Cop reports that Linares is seeking compensation for the cost of car repairs and the “loss of use” of his vehicle.

In reporting the Kim Kardashian lawsuit Tuesday, TMZ shared a photo of the damage to Kim’s G-Wagon after the incident and notes that sources close to Kim called the damage to her vehicle “minimal.” The TMZ photo shows a small scuff on the bumper of the KUWTK star’s SUV.

Additionally, sources close to Kardashian “felt the guy was totally fine,” according to the report from TMZ.

A representative for Kim Kardashian has not yet commented on the lawsuit, according to reports.

This isn’t the first time that Kim Kardashian has been involved in a lawsuit. In 2014, for example, a New York woman sued Kim, Kanye, and their then-baby daughter, North West, in an effort to “formalize an agreement” after she “associated with defendants regarding birth” of North. A judge dismissed the lawsuit as “baseless,” according to Radar Online.
