Kirstie Alley Lawsuit: Actress Sued Over ‘Organic Liaison’ Weight-Loss Program

After revealing her dramatically slimmer waistline on Dancing With the Stars in 2011, Alley credited the weight-loss product Organic Liaison — which she endorses — for helping shed over 100 pounds.

A disgruntled California woman however, is calling the actress a liar and has taken it upon herself to prove that Alley and the supplement maker have engaged in “nothing more than a healthy deception” to get people to buy their product.

The lawsuit, filed by Marina Abramyan, claims the former Cheers star lost one hundred pounds not by using her Organic Liaison but instead by eating less calories and performing on Dancing With The Stars.

“Alley’s weight loss is not due to the Organic Liaison Program, but rather, is the result of an above average exercise regimen and extremely low calorie diet, including her time on the television program ‘Dancing With the Stars’ (‘DWTS’), where she spent five to seven hours a day exercising as part of the competition,” Abramyan alleges in the suit, filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on July 20th.

According to TMZ, the angry dieter is seeking an injunction preventing Organic Liaison from proceeding with its current campaign, which utilises before-and-after ‘DWTS’ photos of Kirstie, as well as unspecified damages for the “proposed plaintiff class.”

Yahoo! points out that this isn’t the first time Organic Liaison has come under fire.

In 2010, critics linked the weight-loss program to Scientology — fellow Scientologist Kelly Preston also endorses the product — connecting it to a Scientology plan called the purification rundown, which is a controversial detoxification program developed by Scientology’s founder L. Ron Hubbard.

Either this woman has no clue, is filing for dollars or wants her 15 minutes of fame. Most weight loss "programs", especially those selling you stuff over and over are scams to tap into your wallet. All you have to do is either spend ten bucks or go to the library and read either Andrew Weil or Joel Furhman's books. Both teach different methods of replacing empty calories with real plant based food. It's hard but it works. But most people, like this idiot want a magic method requiring little effort on their part.
