Jennifer Lawrence: Is She Trying Too Hard To Be ‘Cool’?

It’s no secret that Jennifer Lawrence is one of the biggest stars in the world at the moment. She’s been known to be candid about things that most actresses wouldn’t talk about (like eating), and she says a lot of other fun things that actresses are not known to talk about, says the Independent. Even when she struts down the street wearing a pair of Daisy Dukes, as seen in Daily Mail, it becomes news. But is it all getting a bit too much?

Variety tweeted a video of the actress at the press conference where she talked sarcastically with a reporter.

Her recent behavior at Golden Globe was severely criticized, MTV News reported. At the Golden Globes, a reporter was got shut down by Jennifer Lawrence because he asked her a question about her win. However, she called him out for not looking up from his phone. If one watches the video, it’s all too clear that she was being sarcastic with a man who was certainly struggling with the language. This made fans pretty mad at her, given that she is usually labelled as “relatable,” Pop Buzz reported.

Even John Ross Bowie came to criticize her saying she was being rude to the reporter whose first language was probably not English.

Right after the Golden Globe fiasco, she donated $2 million dollars to Kosair Children’s hospital and was heard making “cute” comments again.

“My family and I have met so many wonderful children on our visits to the hospital. Their strength and courage is inspiring,” Lawrence said (via USA Today).

But is this donation just a bid to get her lost fan following back? She has several rude comments that her fans may not be able to forgive her for. Some of her fans said she was getting annoying by the second. The fans certainly didn’t seem to like what Miss Lawrence was doing.

According to Fish Wrapper, she even picked on Lindsay Lohan during a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, saying, “I puked yesterday. I’m a puker. I’m a big-time puker.”

“I think that I don’t stop working,” she says, “because I’m a show pony. I don’t have a choice. So, I just keep going, I think, until eventually my body’s just like, ‘If we don’t make her barf or pass out, she won’t stop. I get, like, Lindsay Lohan-grade exhaustion, but without any drugs or alcohol. I’m always in bed early, but I’m still tired.”

Another fan said she was trying too hard to be relatable and funny.

It’s true that Lindsay Lohan jokes have been doing rounds on the internet. But is it fair to take a shot at your own peer?

Is Jennifer Lawrence going to meet the same fate as Anne Hathaway after all? Lawrence has been seen as someone who is a complete antithesis to what Hathaway is thought to be. But, are those days going to be over soon?

There were several reports and articles that talk about why people love to hate Anne Hathaway, and a common answer that came up was that “she’s trying too hard to please everyone,” Buzzfeed reported. A lot of people did not think it was “quirky”. In fact, they thought the Hunger Games actress just embarrassed the reporter.

Is Jennifer Lawrence trying to do the same now? Can picking on your fellow actors and being rude to a reporter when he is clearly struggling a “cool” thing to do? Clearly not. Do you think Jennifer Lawrence’s recent behavior will make her “hatha-hated” instead of “most loved”?
