Chrissy Teigen Responds To Backlash About Intended Parenting Choices

Chrissy Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, has been facing criticism after sharing her and the 37-year-old musician’s intention to hire a night nurse for the little one they are expecting very soon.

The 30-year-old recently divulged advice the soon-to-be parents have been given and shared with Us Weekly that she and Legend intend to hire a night nurse on the recommendation of a friend. When asked about the advice the two would follow, the model didn’t hesitate to respond.

“The recommendation of a night nurse! It’s pretty unanimous. Everyone was like, ‘If you can do it, do it.’ So we’re going for it!”

The model and TV host took heat shortly after the publication shared Teigen’s intentions. Several people took to Twitter to question the choice by the future parents.

The tweets directed at Teigen’s quotes in the piece by Us Weekly motivated the beauty to take to Twitter herself to share that a night nurse in no way means she will be able to take a break through the night and indicated that the judgement is more than she wants to handle.

“A night nurse doesn’t replace you waking and feeding at night. You’re up with them. They’re helpers and teachers.. I am so used to sharing our life that I forget how protective I will be soon. I cannot handle this kind of constant judgement!”

The main judgement comes at the fact that mothers give up valuable bonding time with their child by passing the little one off to someone else, but there are many who swear by night nurses and note the support and education they can provide to a first-time mother who prefers to have the guidance. E! Online further explains the benefits to the night nurses and sleep training.

“Rates for night nurses, also called baby nurses, are typically a minimum of $25 per hour. Some agencies offer registered nurses for hire, as well as sleep training sessions for parents. Many parents swear by night nurses, saying they offer valuable expertise and tremendous help, especially for first-time mothers.”

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are taking the lead-up to parenting in stride and have stated that they are normally quite anxious but are remaining mellow about the role they will shortly be taking on and the new little member of their family they are soon to be welcoming. Us Weekly shares Teigen’s words in regard to this based on the interview in which she was open about the advice the two would follow.

“We’re pretty mellow with it. I’m pretty anxious normally with most things in life, work, but with this we’re very calm, and we feel very ready despite not really having done anything. We toured the hospital … but I think for for the most part, we’re very lucky to have my mom and John’s mom with us during the summer, so we’ll learn as we go just like anything else.”

They announced the news they are expecting a daughter back in October after having a difficult time conceiving. As Daily Mail relays, the couple resorted to fertility treatments to get them to this point and clearly could not be happier to be able to welcome their new little one shortly.

John and Chrissy’s pregnancy news came via social media late last year. The couple noted the difficult road they had getting there.

“It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening.”

The couple is clearly smitten with one another and will no doubt be wonderful and loving parents to their daughter.
