Drake To Remix Desiigner’s ‘Panda’? G.O.O.D. Music Rapper Requests Drake For Official Mix

Drake may be busy putting the finishing touches on his impending Views From The 6 album, but is Drake planning on teaming up with Desiigner for a remix of the rapper’s new track, “Panda”?

Last week, Kanye West confirmed speculation that Desiigner is the newest artist to have been signed to West’s record label, G.O.O.D. Music, before inviting the up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper to make an appearance at his Yeezy Season 3 presentation, Complex reports.

With Desiigner’s “Panda” having already garnered massive attention from big-named artists, most recently including the likes of Lil’ Kim and Dave East, it’s no surprise that fans are curious to see who the rapper chooses to serve on the official remix of his hit track.

In a new interview obtained by DJ Akademiks, Desiigner responds to the growing success of his latest track while also revealing his top choice for who he wants to serve on the official remix of “Panda.”

When asked which artist he would prefer to serve on his official remix, Desiigner reveals, “Hey yo Drake, holla at me.”

While Drake has yet to respond to Desiigner’s request for an official “Panda” remix, it seems that a collaboration between the duo may be a possibility.

Desiigner’s “Panda” made an appearance on the most recent episode of Drake’s OVO Sound Radio via Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, which also featured a tribute mix to Kanye West just hours ahead of the rapper’s release of The Life of Pablo.

In addition, with Kanye West having sampled “Panda” on his TLOP track, “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 2,” alongside rumors suggesting that Drake and West have been working on new music together over the past few weeks, it’s a possibility that Drake may collaborate with West’s newest addition to the G.O.O.D. Music label.

However, with critics suggesting that Desiigner’s sound too closely resembles that of Future’s, who teamed up with Drake for the duo’s 2015 mixtape, What A Time To Be Alive, some fans argue that Drake may purposely avoid doing a remix of Desiigner’s “Panda” in order to avoid backlash from Future fans.

Regardless, Drake has a history of being featured on new works from up-and-coming rappers, so it appears that fans will just have to wait and see if the Toronto-native takes up Desiigner’s request for an official “Panda” remix in the near future.

The news comes just days after fans were met with disappointment after discovering that Drake was not featured on Kanye West’s TLOP despite rumors of an impending collaboration between the duo.

While Drake did receive writing credits for West’s “Facts” and “30 Hours,” fans are still holding out hope that the duo will revisit their rumored collaborative album following the release of Drake’s VFT6 in April.

Last year, Kanye West confirmed speculation that he and Drake were trading beats for the rumored album, titled Wolves, albeit admitting that the project wasn’t exactly a done deal.

Speaking to The Breakfast Club in February, 2015, West explains, “The ‘Wolves’ song came from a conversation that me and Drake had, when we was gunna do an album together and the album was called Wolves.”

“I asked [Drake] and we talked about it, and he said yeah we was gunna do it. And actually, he was sending beats back and forth, I got this one record with Young Thug that I think we gunna put on Rihanna’s album,” West continued before noting, “I dunno, it might happen cause I threw it out there. He might be mad that I mentioned it on [The Breakfast Club] cause he dislikes y’all so much.”

With rumors also suggesting that Young Thug confirmed the existence of the rumored West and Drake collaboration for his Slime Season 4 mixtape, perhaps fans will get a glimpse of the duo’s speculated track in the near future.
