Emma Roberts Confirms Her ‘Scream Queens’ Return: ‘Yeah! Chanel Is Back!’

Emma Roberts played one of the most loved and most hated characters on television in Scream Queens first season, and it looks like we haven’t yet seen the last of Chanel Oberlin. We already knew that Ryan Murphy was planning to bring certain characters back from that first season, so it’s not very surprising to learn that Roberts will be reprising her role. In addition to Emma’s return, a number of favorites will be returning to season 2 of Scream Queens, adding a feel of familiarity to the new cast.

Emma Roberts Is Excited To Be Coming Back To Scream Queens

The news was too exciting to be kept to herself for long, as was evidenced by her revelation at New York’s Fashion Week, during the Ralph Lauren Polo presentation.

“Yeah, Chanel is back!” Roberts said, bursting at the seams to reveal this bit of Scream Queens news. “I’m so excited for season two of Scream Queens because I can only imagine what the writers have in store for Chanel.”

It was revealed early, just after the close of the first season, that the next Scream Queens installment would take place in a hospital and, until now, it has mostly been assumed that it would be a traditional hospital. The news that Emma will be reprising her role as Chanel Oberlin, who we know is happily locked away in a mental institution, suggests that next season may use that sanitarium as the setting.

Whatever the exact locale, we do know that Scream Queens season 2 will utilize some sort of healthcare facility, because a recent casting call has asked for male actors, capable of filling four male doctor roles. The call is for men in the 20-30 year old age range.

“I mean I hope there’s four hot doctors because I feel like if there is anything season two needs it’s four hot doctors,” said Emma, as she remarked on the casting call.

While Emma revealed that she’s hoping to see some of the male actors from the first season of Scream Queens return, she added that Ryan Murphy excels in his casting choices. Speaking of casting choices, Jamie Lee Curtis is expected to return, possibly reprising her role as Dean Cathy Munsch. It’s still unclear as to whether Lea Michele will be brought back.

Emma Roberts And Evan Peters Are Officially Back Together…And Engaged Once More

It has been suspected for several months now and neither Emma nor Evan would confirm it, but it seems they’ve finally come out with the truth about their reunited relationship. Giving up on trying to keep their love affair a secret, Roberts and Peters have been seen publicly together, sharing smiles and laughs. Emma is even displaying her new engagement ring and, according to sources, the couple has set a 2016 wedding date.

A Facebook fan page for Scream Queens cites May 24 as the day for the happy event, though there has been no official confirmation at this time.

It’s good to see Emma and Evan back together, especially as it seems the couple shares a love that never really dies. Perhaps working so closely together negatively impacted their relationship, considering that Emma backed out of her American Horror Story guest appearance, just as rumors of the couple’s reunion began to circulate.

It definitely appears as though Roberts and Peters genuinely enjoy their time together, but, just as important to their relationship, they may also need the time apart provided by working on two different shows. As they work separately, they may find the freedom to express themselves helps them to bond, when they are together.
