Toy Story 4 In The Works? Rumors About New Pixar Movies Start To Circulate

Is Pixar working on Toy Story 4? What about Finding Nemo 2? Rumors have been circulating this week that Pixar has a few sequels lined up for production.

The rumor about Toy Story 4 is both extremely exciting and terribly disappointing. The trilogy ended on a near perfect note and extending the series for another movie could leave a blemish on the franchise. On the other hand, the franchise has made billions since the release of the first movie and a fourth would pretty much be a guaranteed commercial success.

Pixar hasn’t said anything official about the new Toy Story movie but various sources are reporting that a new movie is in the works. The rumor seems to come from an interview with Tom Hanks from last year. Hanks said that Pixar was already working on a fourth installment in the series.

When asked about Toy Story 4, Hanks said:

“I think there will be, yeah. I think they’re working on it now.”

That, however, was nearly a year ago. On the bright side, IMBD does have Toy Story 4 listed as “announced.”

The Finding Nemo 2 rumor seems a lot more credible. Deadline reports that Pixar has already hired a director, Andrew Stanton, and have already begun working on the new picture. (Stanton has penned several Pixar movies, Including the first three Toy Story movies, and directed Oscar-winning movies Finding Nemo and Wall-E.) Pixar has not confirmed this news either.

But that doesn’t mean that Pixar won’t be releasing a few new sequels. Stanton said:

Stanton said:

“I’m sure you’ll see some other sequels of things as they grow because now we are not so blinded. It’s the originals that keep us really going and it’s the sequels that are like comfort food, and I think it’s the same way for the audience.”

Pixar hasn’t made any official announcements about Toy Story 4 or Finding Nemo 2. They have, however, released a trailer for the new Monsters Inc. 2.
