‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Star Robyn Dixon Opens Up About Past Money Troubles And Living With Her Ex

Robyn Dixon has one of the more unique storylines on Bravo’s newest reality series, The Real Housewives of Potomac. Not only is her relationship with her ex-husband unorthodox, but the newly minted reality star has also filed bankruptcy in her recent past. Fortunately, Dixon recently sat down with OK! Magazine and discussed some of the elements of her unconventional past.

According to Radar Online, Dixon and her former husband, Juan Dixon, divorced back in 2012 after being together since high school. Although Dixon admitted that Juan moved out following their divorce, the two are now living together in a rather strange arrangement.

In the interview, Dixon admitted that she and Juan are best friends, and their current living situation is a reflection of how much the two need each other. However, that doesn’t mean they are ready to get married any time soon.

“We sleep in the same bed,” Dixon told the magazine. “If you didn’t know, if I didn’t tell you, you would assume we are married just because we function as a couple kind of as we have always known each other.”

Although it sounds as though the two are now back together, Dixon was hesitant about their future. In fact, the reality star went on to explain how romance is not part of their relationship at the moment and how they have a lot of questions yet to be answered.

“The romantic part we’re trying to figure out,” she stated. “We’re going to have to make a decision at one point if we are going to stick together, really focus on the romantic part or is it we continue to be each other’s best supporter, but move on and go separate ways romantically. We’re kind of still in that grey area.”

Whatever ends up happening between the two, fans can rest assured that it will likely to become a part of the Real Housewives of Potomac.

Meanwhile, RadarOnline is reporting that Dixon also discussed her troubled financial past. For those that are unaware, Dixon filed for bankruptcy back in 2013 but claims to have since turned her life around.

“I’m back on track,” she explained in the interview. “It’s not perfect. It’s not where I want it. We are still dealing with repercussions from everything that’s happened to us.”

In her bankruptcy filing, Dixon listed over $217,000 in debt while only claiming to bring in around $2,000 a month. Her debts included some $150,000 in mortgage fees, $28,000 in car loans, $30,000 in credit card debt, and a little over $2,500 in back taxes.

In explaining why she was forced to declare bankruptcy, Dixon cited a number of different reasons, including mismanaging her income. While she admitted that she could have done a better job with her finances, she believes that some things were unavoidable.

“What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger,” she concluded. “Very cliché, but having money when you are young and fresh out college, it honestly means nothing. You don’t learn real life until you’re actually kind of faced with some kind of struggle or hardship.”

Dixon is currently working at a PR firm based out of Washington, D.C. She also juggles work with raising her two children. Luckily, her job is flexible enough for her to get her work done and be there for her children whenever they need her.

As far as her future with Juan is concerned, fans will have to tune in to the reality show to find out what becomes of their odd arrangement.

The first season of the Real Housewives of Potomac continues Sunday nights on Bravo.
