‘Skinny’ Blogger Under Fire for Calling Kate Upton Fat

Blogger calls Kate Upton fat

A blogger for a site called “Skinny Gossip” has written that swimsuit model and Sports Illustrated cover girls Kate Upton has “huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, and terrible body definition.”

That wasn’t all. She also compared Upton to livestock.

“Did you know that humans are 80% genetically identical to cows? Well, allow me to prove it to you…,” she wrote.

She followed that statement with a less than flattering photo of Upton, seen above.

The harsh words for the Kate Upton, whose body type is more curvaceous than others in the industry but certainly not fat, have prompted outcry. ABC News Blog reports that many industry insiders have rushed to Upton’s defense.

“Running this site where you actually praise women for staying emaciated and skinny and then to go out there and then track someone who has a normal body, I mean, she’s got issues,” Lesley Jane Seymour, editor-in-chief of MORE magazine told ABC News Blog.

Online, the hacker group Anonymous took the opportunity to hack the site, forcing the anonymous author who goes by the name “Skinny Gurl” to change hosts.

But the outcry and hack job seems to have made an impressing on “Skinny Gurl.” A report by the New York Daily News indicated she has expressed a modicum of regret.

“I never imagined it would grow to the point where the celebrities I was writing about were actually reading the articles, and that has made me think,” she wrote.

ABC News Blogs‘ report said that the site has removed its “Starving Tip of the Day” and has included language denouncing self-harm, presumably referring to starvation diets.

Blogger says Kate Upton has big fat floppy boobs

Well, you’ve seen the photos of Kate Upton. What’s your take? Is she big and beautiful, or just an example of a healthy, attractive model?

  1. Fat? Maybe for an Ethopian, but she doesn't look fat to me, I wish I looked that good! People have a warped version of what beauty is these days. Marilyn Monroe was a size 14, what does that tell you?

  2. I think Kate is fine. I have always been 5 foot 1 inch and 100 to 105 lbs. with no eating problems, just naturally thin. My sons, ages 26 and 29 make jokes about the emaciated girls that run around thinking the skinnier the better. It's like hugging a skeleton, real men want women with some curve to them.

The skinny-blogger chick obviously has a skewed idea of body size. She comes off as a mean, jealous, wench and who cares about an opinion offered by someone like that?

she far from fat they have nothing better to talk about just because she has a bathsuit on and some rolls show that's telling us today in this world lets be real not fake.

  7. well if that's what they consider fat, then I would give my right arm to be fat.

  8. I fail to see how the picture is anything more than bad lighting, poor choice of outfit for body type and perhaps an unflattering position…I Guess needing to be perfect from every angle at all times is a product of the internet age.Anyone can take a picture of you sneezing, hunched over, in a horrble outfit and make a whole thesis out of it and call it entertainment… thing is, I am not entertained and realize that this obsession with over analysis will never go away. All we will get from this type of blog is another excuse to be mean spirited and critical for cool points.. In reading the comments made by the author it seems that she thinks there is a double standard.. that people are softer on the overweight.Has anyone ever seen how people actually treat the heavy? Seems to me that the author is just a bullied person making good on a promise to get even for all the skinny mini jokes… how evolved of her.

  9. I would eat a mile of kate's shit…. Just to see her ass looks like! Skinny gurl! eat a burger and shut up!

    She is nowhere near fat!

  12. Not to mention what some of them (like hubby, who's 6'8" and 280lbs) would fear about sex. *Crunch* Oh crap, I broke her pelivs! XD

  13. Yes, my late husband was 6'1 180 lbs, my sons are 6'3 210 and 6'0 185 and my husband used to tell them all the time to be careful with me when we would horse around. He was always afraid that I would get hurt even tho I grew up in a house with 6 brothers and was tougher than I looked. My youngest makes cracks about these super skinnies all the time and will say "oops, I broke her" when he sees theses girls.

  14. She ain't fat but she she is beautiful. Wish I could look that way.

  15. I would like to see what the blogger looks like.

  18. its just normal chick behavior, if she is under 20 years old, any older and she needs some real help!!!

Women have curves, guys like curves. This guy does anyhow. Skinny emaciated models are neither attractive, nor an accurate representation of the majority of the industry market share. The industry should change there model "ideal"

I'd say there are a lot of American women who could only dream of being as thin as Kate Upton, and she wouldn't have been on the cover of Sports Illustrated if men didn't find her hot and alluring. Anorexia is a disease, not something to be praised. Congrats, Jason B. Lewis on recognizing this.

  22. O, how I would LOVE to be as "fat" as Kate Upton… Ridiculous that ppl encourage an obsession w/emaciated women as "sexy" when there are so many impressionable young women out there. Just sad….

So why is calling someone fat so horrible but every fing idiot in the world can run around screaming about how skinny and emaciated girls are and how gross it is? So basically you all agree that a womans worth lies only in her body, at least that's what it seems like! Some people are big some are small why is it such a big deal? Also how is it helping anyone if your insulting one body size to help another feel better?

women need to support women–not perpetuate some hollywood b.s.– and if she is so damn amazing-then she's very lucky-and could try practicing gratitude-and silence-

She says she is 5'7" and maintains her weight at 100 pounds. If you have seen the photos from the camps in WWII, I imagine that would be a close representation. The big difference of course, is that the poor souls in the camps got that emaciated because they were forcefully starved. They weren't intentionally attempting to look like a human clothes hanger for 'beauty'.

There is nothing wrong with her body and shape. Her covers are the product of creative editing which is what all covers and ads do.

It's sad that someone would criticize a 'curvier than average' model. Some women are healthy yet 'thick,' 'curvy,' or 'voluptuous' (positive adjectives that many men & friends have used to describe me). I'm also one who was teased for being 'a cow,' 'fat' 'disgusting,' 'a pig' and even asked at age 10 by one of my classmates, "when's it due?'' There are also insults hurled at skinny women who are perfectly healthy yet called 'too thin,' 'boyish,' 'a stick figure,' etc instead of 'naturally slender.'

It's not an easy position to be in: far above OR below the average weight. Being 'voluptuous,' I know first-hand how difficult it is to possess a positive self body image. That being said, I also know that there are some girls/women who overeat but are quite tiny and catch flack & get teased as much as I do/have. (A friend from high school used to cry because she couldn't gain weight…she'd have done anything for some 'floppy boobs').

As for 'women' (such as 'skinny gurl') who pride themselves on being skinny because they eat very little and exercise excessively in order to maintain that body image…THOSE women should get their heads out of the clouds for a reality check: YOU ARE JUST AS UNHEALTHY AS THE MORBIDLY OBESE! Possibly more so.

YOUR BODY IS WHAT YOUR BODY IS, AND IF YOU EAT A HEALTHY, BALANCED DIET AND EXERCISE REGULARLY AT LEAST 3 DAYS PER WEEK (more if you have the time), YOUR BODY WILL LOOK EXACTLY AS IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK AND YOU CAN PRIDE YOURSELF ON BEING HEALTHY RATHER THAN SKINNY!!

There is BEAUTY in EVERYONE! Like PRETTY EYES, a NICE SMILE, a GOOD ATTITUDE, a STRONG physique (whether small or large framed), or a CHARMING PERSONALITY. Regardless of weight/size/attractiveness (and bear in mind that how attractive you are to others does not always line up with your own self image), people need to stop being so judgmental! If you are morbidly obese or frighteningly thin and ask me for my opinion…I would offer you emotional support and encourage you to seek medical help in your quest to become (or find out if you are) healthy. A more positive, REALISTIC self-image would naturally follow if you take the advice your doctors and/or mental health professionals suggest.

…and need I remind *some people* of this: Marilyn Monroe was, by today's standards, a 'plus sized woman!' Yet she's forever an icon of beauty! She had men constantly groveling at her feet and women idolized her! I'm just sayin!

  32. I think she is awesome…keep doing what you're doing, Kate. You're an inspiration to all women with beautiful curves.

Also, fat is not healthy either. Diet and exercise are the keys to a healthy (and sexy) body. It's so simple, yet elusive to so many. America may eat itself to death, one super-sized meal at a time.

Less than flattering picture? So she doesn't have a fake, airbrushed ass? I still think she looks GREAT. I'm so sick of the world. 0 is NOT a size and skin and bones is disgusting! Marilyn Monroe forever!<3.

Because if you call girls like kate fat they can end up loosing perspective of what is healthy. skinny is cute. emaciated is not, these girls could loose their lives. Remember Nicole Richie. Nicole was never fat she just needed to tone up but america attacked her and she developed a serious issue. now she is skinny and normal. I agree with you its not okay to attack people based on their weight but emaciated is still the hottest trend in hollywood and thats not okay.

  38. Jennifer…allow april to continue schooling you please. You don't tell healthy woman that they are fat. Period.

What the hell are you morons talking about do you not even have the intelligence to understand what I wrote??? School me how about learning to understand someone before you both comment like jackasses!!!

  43. The problem with Upton isn't "fat" (she obviously isn't!), it's her unfortunately thick obliques. I for one cannot understand how SI would choose someone of that body type to be a swimsuit cover girl. There are FAR better looking, non-skinny (i.e. "healthy"), hourglass bodies out there to drool over: Scar-Jo, Jeri Ryan, Rachel Nichols and Katy Perry, to name a few.
