‘Skinny’ Blogger Under Fire for Calling Kate Upton Fat

A blogger for a site called “Skinny Gossip” has written that swimsuit model and Sports Illustrated cover girls Kate Upton has “huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, and terrible body definition.”

That wasn’t all. She also compared Upton to livestock.

“Did you know that humans are 80% genetically identical to cows? Well, allow me to prove it to you…,” she wrote.

She followed that statement with a less than flattering photo of Upton, seen above.

The harsh words for the Kate Upton, whose body type is more curvaceous than others in the industry but certainly not fat, have prompted outcry. ABC News Blog reports that many industry insiders have rushed to Upton’s defense.

“Running this site where you actually praise women for staying emaciated and skinny and then to go out there and then track someone who has a normal body, I mean, she’s got issues,” Lesley Jane Seymour, editor-in-chief of MORE magazine told ABC News Blog.

Online, the hacker group Anonymous took the opportunity to hack the site, forcing the anonymous author who goes by the name “Skinny Gurl” to change hosts.

But the outcry and hack job seems to have made an impressing on “Skinny Gurl.” A report by the New York Daily News indicated she has expressed a modicum of regret.

“I never imagined it would grow to the point where the celebrities I was writing about were actually reading the articles, and that has made me think,” she wrote.

ABC News Blogs‘ report said that the site has removed its “Starving Tip of the Day” and has included language denouncing self-harm, presumably referring to starvation diets.

Well, you’ve seen the photos of Kate Upton. What’s your take? Is she big and beautiful, or just an example of a healthy, attractive model?
