‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Feb. 5, Suros Regime In The House

Another Xûr visit to the Destiny Tower went live the morning of Friday, February 5 with a set of Exotic gear the mysterious vendor has not frequently sold. PlayStation and Xbox players have a classic Exotic Primary Weapon to look forward to, along with some armored goodies.

Xûr can be found just outside of the Speaker’s building next to the railing overlooking the city this weekend. Turn left as soon as you spawn in the Tower and run straight to the north part of the social space. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

SUROS Regime

The SUROS Regime Auto Rifle was once the king of the Crucible until various weapon balance patches took it out. It is still a solid weapon for Destiny players in both PVE and PVP, plus it has been a long time since it last appeared in Xûr’s inventory.

The “SUROS Legacy” perk gives the weapon extra damage dealing for the bottom half of the magazine with a chance to return health on each kill. Meanwhile, the Year Two version of the Auto Rifle gives a choice between “Focused Fire” to make the weapon fire slower, but do more damage while aimed and “Spinning Up” to make it fire faster the long it is fired.

Immolation Fists

Destiny Immolation Fists Exotic Titan Gauntlets (PlayStation, Xbox)

These Titan Sunbreaker specific gauntlets grant the “Explosive Pyre” perk from the sub-class’ skill tree for free so that enemies explode when killed by the Hammer of Sol. This frees players up to use the “Flameseeker” or “Fleetfire” perks instead. The former turns on tracking for the Hammer of Sol while the latter gives an agility boost for any kills with the Sunbreaker’s fire.

The random perks with the Immolation Fists offered by Xûr include the choice between “Rain Blows” and “Momentum Transfer” along with “Hand Cannon Loader” and “Fusion Rifle Loader.”

The pure 70 Intellect stat is solid for Destiny players focused on getting their Super recharged, but doesn’t synergize well with these gauntlets’ intrinsic perk. Sunbreaker Titans may want to re-roll using Glass Needles to get a good Strength stat plus their preferred choice of weapon reload speed bonus.

Radiant Dance Machines

Hunters who want to move faster should check out the Radiant Dance Machines. Not only will these Exotic boots grant style points, but they also give increased movement speed when aiming down sights via “The Dance” perk. The PVE utility of this perk is questionable, but it is of great use in PVP. Destiny players can stack this with weapons that come with agility buffs, such as MIDA Multi-tool, to move even faster.

The 61 Intellect and 55 Strength stat roll for these boots is excellent. The ability to carry more Machine Gun Ammo is always welcome. Destiny players will need to decide if its worth re-rolling if they don’t care for the Fusion Rifle ammo option.

The Stag

Destiny THE STAG Exotic Warlock Helmet (PlayStation, Xbox)

The Stag helmet not only makes your Destiny character look like a creepy deer, it also comes with the “Doe or Die” perk to grant faster Super energy recharge when you are the last of your fireteam to be standing and can proc an overshield on respawn. This is probably best used for small team PVP multiplayer game types, such as Elimination and Trials of Osiris, since they allow for situations where you could be the last man standing.

The optional perks on The Stag are a choice between the “Ashes to Asset” for bonus Super energy from grenade kills against minions and “Second Thoughts” for bonus Super energy from Special Weapon kills on minions. There is also “Better Already” to instantly start shield recovery after Orb pickups.

Like the other two pieces, the 48 Discipline / 48 Strength stat split on this helmet is solid and shouldn’t require a re-roll unless there are other perks you prefer.
