Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton Create Country Music Album: Blake Tweets Response To Pregnancy & Wedding Reports

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton both experienced an emotional roller coaster in 2015, with her divorce from Gavin Rossdale and his split from Miranda Lambert. But when Gwen and Blake turned their friendship on The Voice into flirty fun followed by an increasingly hot hook-up, those lows following their divorces turned into happy highs. Now Stefani is reflecting on how she transformed tragedy into joy, reported In Style.

In addition to her romance with Shelton, Gwen is thrilled to return to the studio and her music.

“It’s an amazing moment for me,” revealed Stefani. “I’ve written most of the songs for this album during a tragedy that I turned into a joyful time. It will very much be like looking into my journal when you listen to it.”

Gwen is proud of returning to radio, with her single “Used To Love You” soaring to the top of the charts recently. And the reaction from fans delights her as well.

“I can’t believe I got back on the radio again,” exalted Stefani. “I love the fact that I’m writing music—and that the response has been unbelievable.”

As for which songs will make it to her new album, Gwen isn’t sure yet. Thus far, she revealed she penned five new songs in a recent session.

“Every time we make a new one, it changes everything,” added Stefani.

But it’s not just Gwen solo. Stefani and Shelton are planning to create a country music album as a duo, according to a source cited by Hollywood Life.

“The album will be a whole new outlook on music, mixing Blake’s country voice and Gwen’s pop expertise — it’ll be an amazing crossover record,” revealed the source. “Blake is just excited to be working with Gwen again. He can’t wait to show her the country ropes! He’s her No. 1 supporter.”

Shelton previously has praised his girlfriend’s music on social media, and the opportunity to spend time together professionally in additional to their personal relationship apparently was irresistible. For Stefani, the chance to expand her repertoire is an additional incentive, added the source. She also hopes that it will make her more popular among friends and family members of Shelton.

“[Gwen] says country music will be great to add to her repertoire because it’ll increase her likability and sales. Plus, Gwen thinks it’ll make Blake’s friends and family like her more,” revealed the insider.

Meanwhile, the tabloids are reporting everything from Gwen expecting twins to Blake planning a shotgun wedding to Shelton and Stefani getting ready to live together, reported Christian Today.

Shelton took advantage of a tweet from a fan to respond to the tabloid reports, some of which even contradicted each other, with one reporting the wedding was cancelled and the other reporting it was on.

The fan, Debbie McCarthy, sent Blake a tweet with a picture of a magazine saying Gwen was pregnant with twins, with Blake planning a shotgun wedding, as well as another magazine claiming Stefani had cancelled the wedding after a battle with Shelton.

“@blakeshelton So which one is it?? Ha ha,” tweeted Debbie.

“Possibly the funniest picture I’ve ever seen,” tweeted back Shelton.

Blake noted he thought that the tabloids should at least be consistent in making up stories and then offered up a Jerry Seinfeld quote to show his view of all those rumors.

“People who read tabloids deserve to be lied to,” quoted Shelton.

And Blake showed his sense of humor by tweeting that he should have been collecting some of the more egregious tabloid reports.

Happiness Is Being Together

But although Blake mocked the tabloids, Shelton is making it clear that his love for Gwen is real. Emphasizing in a recent interview that he feels it’s too early to talk about having a baby with Stefani, Shelton shared that he is truly happy with his new girlfriend, reported ET Online.

The two even went to a wedding together in Nashville recently, and they also had a date at a local restaurant.

“[Gwen and Blake were] all over each other,” a source told ET.

Stefani and Shelton have been together everywhere from their hometowns (Gwen is from Anaheim, California, while Blake enjoyed showing her the delights of his Oklahoma home state) to a football game in Arizona to wine-tasting in Buellton, California.
