On October 4, 2015, Powerball changed the matrix used for drawing winning numbers. The number of white balls as well as the number of red Powerballs changed. Now, there are 69 white balls and 26 red Powerballs to choose from. This change increases the number of non-jackpot winners while making the jackpot more difficult to win. Since the new change, several numbers have been drawn more frequently than others. For the white balls, the numbers 32 and 47 have been drawn 6 times each. The numbers 16, 40 and 69 have been drawn five times each. The numbers 2, 19, 20, 27, 29, 30, 56, 57, 62, 64, and 68 have been drawn four times each. In regards to the red Powerball, the number 10 has been drawn four times, the numbers 1 and 6 have been drawn three times each and the numbers 2, 9, 13, 17, 19, 21 and 22 have been drawn two times each. You can monitor the results as each week passes on the Washington Lottery site and make sure you are selecting popular Powerball numbers for your winning combination.

When looking for the best Powerball and Mega Millions numbers to pick, it’s a good idea to select those that have been drawn repeatedly.
