Hocus Pocus Sequel Not Happening

Children of the 90s, or even parents of the children, if you were holding out for the Hocus Pocus sequel, you may not want to hold your breath any longer. Despite reports that there was going to be a sequel in the making, sources say that those rumors about the favorite Halloween comedy starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are unfounded.

According to a representative of the film, “The studio is not developing a sequel to Hocus Pocus.” This rumors began to circulate when Moviehole reported that a sequel was in the works, and that Disney was “quietly developing” the next chapter for the Sanderson sisters successor, which was said to be an elder witch. According to Moviehole the film would focus on a new evil witch that wreaks havoc on suburbia, maybe even California, where the main character Max (Omri Katz) moved from. The title of the film was said to me named Hocus Pocus 2: Rise of the Elderwitch. It was said that the new film would introduce a whole different generation to the fun and whacky Halloween havoc created by the witch.

The report alone spread to reputable sources such at MTV, NME, and many others. Even Perez Hilton got in on the excitement by posting “Holy Thackery Binx!!! SO MANY EMOTIONS!!!” It is not said exactly where Moviehole got its information from, or where they came up with the title, but visions of Betty White conquering middle America were entertaining for a short while.

What sequel would you like to see get greenlit?
