Drake And Kanye West Collaboration Coming Soon? Duo Drop Hints About Rumored ‘SWISH’ Feature

Drake and Kanye West may be rumored to drop their new albums next month, but is the duo also dropping some major hints about a potential collaboration in the works?

While Kanye West may have kept fans eagerly awaiting a new G.O.O.D Friday track yesterday, the rapper did take to Twitter to seemingly hint that a major collaboration for his upcoming SWISH album is potentially on the horizon.

Kanye hasn’t been shy about sharing behind-the-scenes photos from his studio sessions, including pics with Kendrick Lamar, CyHi the Prynce, and Swizz Beatz, but one reoccurring photo has fans wondering if West’s new album will feature a collaboration with Drake, Complex reports.

On Friday, Kanye West took to Twitter to share yet another photo of the vinyl cover for Larry Graham’s 1980 hit, “One in a Million,” which he sampled on his recently released track “No More Parties in LA” alongside Kendrick Lamar.

Graham, who is Drake’s actual uncle, also got a shout out from the “Hotline Bling” rapper on Wednesday after Drake took to Instagram to share a photo of the cover of the vinyl with the caption, “Few more parties in LA,” clearly referencing West’s sample of Graham’s track in his new song.

Now, it appears West is further fueling rumors of an upcoming collaboration with Drake after he took to Twitter to share another snap of Graham’s vinyl cover with the caption, “Uncle Larry is with us in the lab,” DIY Mag reports.

To make matters more interesting, fans pointed out that based on the placement of the price tag on the vinyl in both Kanye and Drake’s photos, it appears that the duo have gotten their hands on the exact same record.

Given the similarities between the rappers’ photos, and the fact that Kanye referred to Graham as “Uncle Larry” in his Twitter post, it appears Kanye may be dropping some major hints about an upcoming collaboration with Drake.

The news comes just days after fans began speculating that Drake is holding off on releasing his highly-anticipated Views From The 6 album in order to compete with the release of West’s SWISH.

While it’s no secret Kanye West and Drake have engaged in some friendly competition in regard to their new music releases over the past few years, Complex speculates that Drake may be taking the opportunity to drop Views in February given the fact that West has already confirmed a February 11 release date for his new album.

In addition, the site notes that Drake has been rumored to release Views From The 6 on February 13 seeing as it marks the one-year anniversary of his If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape and West’ occurs on the same weekend that Drake will be coaching for the All-Star Weekend in his native Toronto.

While it’s unclear if the duo’s rumored collaboration will appear on SWISH, Views From The 6, or both, it appears that fans are more than eager to hear Drake and Kanye team up after failing to deliver their collaborative Wolves album last year.

Shortly after West dropped his “Wolves” track in February 2015, the rapper opened up about the inspiration behind his track in an interview with Complex.

“The song came from a conversation me and Drake had where we were supposed to do an album together—it was supposed to be called Wolves…we said we was gonna do it, he was sending beats back and forth,” Kanye West explained.

While West noted that the collaborative album with Drake “might” still happen in the future, it appears that a collaboration in the form of a new single may be coming sooner than anticipated.
