Kim Kardashian Films Rob Kardashian Intervention For ‘KUWTK’ As Rob Self-Sabotages In ‘Death Wish’: Diabetes ‘Godsend’?

Rob Kardashian has become the focus of family, friends, and fans after the only brother in the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with diabetes. And although his sisters Khloe, Kourtney, and Kim Kardashian had hoped Rob would change his lifestyle after the health wake-up call, they, as well as his mother and “momager” Kris Jenner, are worried that 28-year-old Kardashian is self-sabotaging himself with an unhealthy diet and lack of exercise.

But now a source told Radar Online that Kim Kardashian was the one to take the initiative to change her brother by arranging for an intervention for Rob at the end of last year at Kris Jenner’s home. The cameras were rolling to capture the scene featuring Rob in order to use the drama for Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

“Kim thought if the intervention was filmed, Rob would be more responsive to it,” explained the source.

To help deliver the message, a therapist took on the role of leading the family in confronting Rob. And it was momager Kris who hesitated to take the confrontational step, but finally, out of desperation, agreed.

“There was a therapist to guide the family. This was coming from a place of love. Initially Kris was hesitant, but was desperate to do anything,” added the source.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner skipped the intervention, as did Kourtney Kardashian. But although she disagreed, Khloe Kardashian did attend. The one person who went MIA and was supposed to be there? Rob himself, revealed the source.

“As soon as Rob walked in Kris’ house, he realized what was about to go down and just walked right out the front door. He just got in his car and drove away. He refused to pick-up his phone for several days, and nobody knew where he was.”

That attempt to save Rob occurred prior to the hospitalization for diabetes. And despite that medical crisis, Kardashian has not changed, an insider revealed to Radar.

“[Rob] continues to drink Red Bulls which are loaded with sugar. He’s eating junk food too. The diabetes diagnosis should have been a wake-up call for Rob, but he is in absolute denial about it,” added the insider.

Although Rob might be able to reverse his diabetes if he dieted and exercised, according to that insider, he won’t even monitor his blood sugar on a daily basis despite doctor’s orders.

“He refuses to monitor his blood sugar daily as doctors have told him to do. Even more frustrating is that Rob’s diabetes would likely go away if he began working out and eating healthy!” emphasized the insider.

Diabetes A ‘Godsend’ Claims Kris Jenner

But momager Kris Jenner is trying to put a more positive spin on the health crisis faced by Rob, reported People.

“That was almost a relief, because then he can take all the steps,” insisted Jenner. “It was like a godsend, so it’s all good.”

Kris has confirmed the rumors that Rob received a diabetes diagnosis. The news follows two years of gaining weight and struggling with depression for the 28-year-old, and Jenner said she recognizes Rob himself is responsible for changing his lifestyle.

“It’s one thing to say, ‘Oh, I’m going to get on the healthy path,’ but then you really need to get on the healthy path,” stressed Kris. “Rob has been to that happy place before in his life.”

Can Rob Kardashian Change In Time To Save His Life?

But an expert told Life & Style that Kardashian faces what could turn into a life-or-death crisis if he doesn’t change his ways.

“If Rob doesn’t change his habits and stop overeating, he’s going to have heart attacks, kidney failure, eye problems and more,” warned Charles Passler, a nutritionist. “Yes, you can die from diabetes.”

The good news for Rob is that if he does follow a healthy diet and exercises, he can “cure” his diabetes, according to Passler.

“[Rob] can save his life in three to six months. Type 2 diabetes is almost always curable through diet and exercise,” emphasized the nutritionist.

However, an insider told Life & Style that Kardashian doesn’t seem to have gotten the message.

“[Rob is] depressed and angry and seems to have given up,” revealed the insider.

That insider also revealed that Kardashian has turned to pain pills.

“He isn’t capable of taking care of himself anymore,” contended the source. “He seems to have a death wish.”
