Brooke Mueller Blames Charlie Sheen’s HIV Confession For Her Drug Relapse

It was only a matter of time before the ex wives of Charlie Sheen started blaming things on his revelation that he was HIV positive. Mueller said that her relapse is at least in part due to all of the press attention aimed at the family from Charlie Sheen. Even though Mueller and her twins are not HIV positive, she said this information made her remember the time she was married to Sheen, and the threat of losing her home was also upsetting.

According to the Inquisitr, Charlie Sheen has also been adjusting to his HIV positive status and went to Mexico to try alternative treatments for HIV, including injections of the blood of others. Sadly, Sheen stopped taking his current medicine, and now has a detectable viral load and is feeling ill.

Radar Online is reporting that Mueller has once again checked herself into a rehab facility. An insider revealed what set her off.

“Brooke had a very difficult time in the immediate aftermath of Charlie’s situation going public. Even though she and the twins don’t have HIV, it just brought back a lot of very bad memories of the time when Brooke was married to Charlie.”

Many of Mueller’s friends noticed what was going on quickly.

“The relapse was swift and apparent to everyone immediately,” the insider said. “Within two weeks of the relapse, Brooke decided to go to rehab herself. This was a huge step because Brooke recognized it.”

Mueller went to rehab in Utah, and thought she had gotten herself back together, but she was wrong.

“She went to rehab for several weeks, and came home, thinking everything would be okay. But being home was much harder than Brooke anticipated, and she once again made the decision herself to go back to rehab. She is committed to her sobriety.”

People Magazine said that it was overwhelming to get calls asking about her HIV status, and so she relapsed.

“Brooke has been inundated with calls from friends and family,” according to Steve Honig, Mueller’s spokesperson, who spoke with People at the time. “To put their minds at ease, Brooke can confirm that she and the boys are not HIV-positive.”

More than anything, Mueller needed a break.

Another source close to Mueller, 38, said she “is in treatment on her own accord. She needed to leave Los Angeles for a while… to get some peace and quiet.”

The twins are now living with their grandparents, as Charlie Sheen is selling Brooke Mueller’s house.

According to the Evening Standard, neither Charlie Sheen nor Brooke Mueller are capable right now to take care of their twins Bob and Max. Sheen said that he was now also diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

“I’ve been ‘described’ or ‘diagnosed’ by enough people that I guess at some point you have to take a look at it,” he told Dr Mehmet Oz during her appearance on his show.

Sheen said he never realized the symptoms.

“Manic behaviour is usually in the throes of deep partying, deep substance abuse and drinking. It doesn’t really happen when I’m not doing. It has never really reared its head.”

Sheen’s manager, Mark Burg, said that Charlie Sheen realized that he should follow his doctor’s instructions.

“Just to be clear, Charlie put his life at risk for a doctor who claimed to have a cure for HIV. When it didn’t work he immediately went back on his medication.”

Do you think someone else should have custody of the couple’s twins?
