Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ Reigns For Second Week On Hot 100, Selena Gomez Enters Top Five

Who’s sorry? Not Justin Bieber. The superstar remains No. 1 atop Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart for a second week with the juggernaut that is “Sorry.”

Released as a second single from his smash Purpose album, “Sorry” finally dethroned Adele’s 10-week monarch, “Hello,” last week, and Bieber took the crown.

With his second week at No. 1, the Canadian achieves his first multi-week No. 1, and surpasses the one week reign of his first Hot 100 topper, “What Do You Mean?,” back in September.

Speaking of which, after 20 weeks on the chart (the week ending January 30), “What Do You Mean?” is at No. 10. Justin is also at No. 3 with his latest Purpose single, “Love Yourself.” On component charts, “Sorry” logs in a fifth week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart and the On-Demand Songs chart for a ninth week, according to Nielsen Music.

In addition, Bieber’s “Love Yourself” racks up its second week atop Digital Songs and is No. 2 on the Streaming Songs, and is No. 6 on the Radio Songs chart.

The pop prince sets a new streaming record with “Sorry” and “Love” at No. 1 and 2 on Streaming Songs, respectively. In so doing, he is the first solo male to feature in the chart’s top two at the same time.

Adele’s “Hello,” which is the debut single from her record-breaking album 25, logs in a second week at No. 2. Bieber’s aforementioned “Love Yourself” is No. 3. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” is No. 4, and Selena Gomez rounds out the Hot 100’s top five with “Same Old Love,” which rises one place, and is a cut from her latest album, Revival.

This is Gomez’s highest rank on Hot 100 to date. The 23-year-old actress-singer first scored a No. 5 with her previous single, “Good for You” (featuring A$AP Rocky), in October.

In addition to the multiple records Bieber has broken with Purpose and/or its releases, he is also on track to equal another. “Mean” has been in the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart for 20 weeks. If this continues into another week, it will tie with the record for the most weeks a track has spent in the top 10 following its debut. Nicki Minaj’s “Starships” (2012) and Maroon 5’s “Sugar” (2015) both enjoyed 21 weeks in the top 10 and hold the record jointly.

Purpose slips from No. 2 to No. 3 on Billboard’s 200 Albums chart this week, after the late David Bowie’s last album, Blackstar, took the top spot, following his death on January 10 after finally succumbing to liver cancer. Adele’s 25 is at No. 2.

Meanwhile, the Biebs surprised fans this past weekend when he unveiled his new purple ombre hair ‘do and ever-revealing selfies.

On Friday, hours before his appointment with bleach, the heartthrob shared a nearly nude pic of himself wearing only a pair of white Calvins, while lying on a bed.

Justin’s note reads, “Sweet dreams.”

Later that day, the star posed for two selfies leaning on Brit racing champion Lewis Hamilton’s LaFerrari.

Take two.

The next day, the “Sorry” singer shared two locker room photos which showed him naked except for a very long towel. The hitmaker’s first snap was captioned, “Back in the gym.”

Fast forward to Monday, while browsing about Beverly Hills, the Biebs looked delighted when he met the comedian Adam Sandler by chance.

Shortly after, the singer shared an Instagram clip of himself shaking hands and having a quick exchange with Adam, who was out strolling with his 7-year-old daughter, Sunny.

“Totally did not plan getting that on video.!!!” Bieber wrote alongside his Instavid. “Super random. Adam sander living legend.”
