Alyssa Milano’s Shutdown Of Wendy Williams During Talk Show Goes Viral

Alyssa Milano is an actress whom many know for starring in the hit TV series Charmed, and in recent years she has been widely recognized as one of the most outspoken defenders of public breastfeeding. During Thursday’s episode of the Wendy Williams Show, Alyssa Milano shut down the talk show host after Wendy admitted that she isn’t a fan of women breastfeeding in public areas.

“I don’t need to see that,” Williams said in response to Milano’s question regarding why it upset her. “I just don’t want to.”

Alyssa was invited to the TV show to talk about breastfeeding — among other things — and one of the highlights of the interview was when the two clashed over their different views on the subject.

The above footage is the video in which everything happens, and the scene where the disagreement can be seen starts around 4:40, when Wendy Williams admits that she’s one of those people that have the opinion that breastfeeding is not something that should be done in public.

As Pop Sugar notes, Milano’s attempts at explaining the biological purpose of breasts were lost on the daytime personality.

“They’re more sexual than a feeding thing,” Williams remarked. “I’m a mom also, but breastfeeding is only a particular amount of time. The rest of your life, your breasts are sexual things… They’re fun bags!”

Alyssa then focuses on talking about breasts, saying that public breastfeeding is something that is done regularly all over the world and explaining that Wendy’s views on the subject represent the minority. And Milano also alludes to Wendy being okay with showing a picture of Miley Cyrus in a dress –which shows almost everything — and not finding it acceptable for a mother to nurse her baby in front of other people.

And Alyssa, in a phrase that seems incredible that it needs to be said in the 21st century, clarifies that breasts are not biologically created to be sexual things, and we, as society, have given it this role.

Finally, and to settle the matter, Alyssa drew a big applause from the audience when she blurted out the following statement.

“You’re lucky the baby’s not here, I’d whip ’em out right here and feed him on your show!”

In the past, Alyssa Milano, 43, has been on the receiving end of social media backlash due to her posting photos of her breastfeeding to sites like Instagram and Twitter.

As said in a report from Hollywood Life, the mother of two recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about how the 2015 VMAs showcased a whole lot of skin, and she questioned why her breastfeeding photos are treated differently. She specifically talked about how host Miley Cyrus received little criticism, even though she was almost nude on stage.

“Everyone’s fine with her nipples being out, but if I post a picture of me breastfeeding it’s like, you know, craziness,” Milano said. “I don’t care. I’m going to keep breastfeeding, maybe even until [Elizabella is] 6!Everyone’s fine with her [Miley’s] nipples being out,” she told the publication, before adding that she “thinks people are more comfortable sexualizing breasts than relating them to what they were made for, which is feeding another human.”
