The running for the 2016 Presidential Election has been one of the most exciting throughout the history of United States politics. Unlike previous presidential election runs, there are candidates that are just so aggressive, so passionate for what they stand for, they excite some intense reactions among the American people. For liberals, it is Bernie Sanders. His democratic socialistic ideals seem to appeal to younger Americans, especially millennials, who believe they got the short end of the stick left behind by Baby Boomers. For conservatives, it is Donald Trump. The billionaire real estate mogul has been unapologetic in expressing his disdain for Democratic leadership, political correctness, illegal immigrants, and Syrian refugees. Trump even has the gall to mock people that oppose him.
Given how dynamic both aforementioned candidates are, it is only natural certain people would push back with criticisms. However, Donald Trump seems to be getting the worst of the worst, which includes rumored death threats (especially one from popular rapper Rick Ross). Now “The Donald” can add the leader of the Nation of Islam to his list of naysayers. Louis Farrakhan expressed his views claiming if the country votes for Trump as president, he “will take America into the Abyss of Hell.”
Louis Farrakhan expressed his views during an interview on The Cliff Kelly Show. Farrakhan said Donald Trump’s leadership is not rooted in justice, as reported by Newsmax.
“[Donald Trump is] tearing away the skin of the onion of white civility. And the more he pulls the skin of that onion back, he’s beginning to show something in the character of the whites that follow him. That they don’t care what he says. He could say one thing this minute, another thing the next minute and you can see that the man has a little problem.”
Apparently, the onion statement Louis Farrakhan made is a metaphor to what he describes as Donald Trump “exacerbating the race situation in America.” Summarized, Trump can say anything he wants as long as he uses race as a platform. Such words, however, are dangerous, and will lead America “into the Abyss of Hell.” Farrakhan even says if the American people make a mistake choosing their leaders (in which he means Trump), they will “go there faster.”
To be fair, what Louis Farrakhan has said on Donald Trump is quite tame even for him. He was probably at his most-aggressive when the “Black Lives Matter” movement was initiating, especially the situation surrounding Michael Brown. Farrakhan actually demanded Ferguson protesters to “tear this Godd**n country up.” And just so it’s clear, just because someone is a liberal and/or Democrat does not mean they are safe from Farrakhan’s expression. According to Huffington Post, President Barack Obama suffered Farrakhan’s criticism in which the latter called the former a “murderer” after the death of former Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi.
Right now, Louis Farrakhan is educating numerous people on the matter of the 2016 Presidential election.
