Five Teens Force Father To Leave So They Can Gang Rape His Daughter In Brooklyn Playground — Four Now In Custody

A previous report from The Inquisitr covered a horrific incident that took place in a Brooklyn playground wherein an 18-year-old woman was gang raped by five teenage boys. At the time, reports suggested the woman was with a male friend, but it later turned out to be her father. The teens pulled a gun on the dad and forced him to leave the playground so that they could take turns raping his daughter. By the time the father returned with police officers, the teens were gone.

But according to the Huffington Post, this appalling crime could result in justice as four of the five rapists have been brought into custody. Brooklyn police revealed on Sunday that two of the teenagers involved in the gang rape surrendered to the authorities and the other two were successfully apprehended. The suspects consisted of two 15-year-olds, a 17-year-old, and a 14-year-old. Police are searching for a suspected fifth person who took part in the gang rape as well.

The police report states that the 18-year-old woman was walking with her father along Osborn Playground in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, which is reportedly one of the poorest areas in the city. Five teenagers appeared and held the father at gunpoint, forcing him to walk away. They each took turns in the gang rape, leaving the woman with injuries that were treated at Kings County Hospital.

“A patrol car from the 73rd Precinct was approached on the street and told about the attack by the victim’s father, who directed the officers to the scene,” said police spokesperson Stephen Davis said. “The police officers immediately responded and located the victim. The suspects had already fled.”

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams called for a full investigation into the gang rape “not only to identify all those responsible for this horrific attack, but also to determine if everything possible was done to protect the victim and the public,” and questioned why police did not notify the public about the incident until 48 hours later.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio also released a statement about the gang rape and pledged that all five culprits will be brought into custody.

“I am disgusted and deeply saddened by the horrific attack. Every New Yorker in every neighborhood deserves to feel safe and protected, and we will not stop until the perpetrators of this disturbing attack are held accountable for their actions.”

According to NBC New York, surveillance footage caught the five suspects entering a bodega before the attack, which they released two days after the gang rape took place. You can see the security footage in the video below.

None of the suspects in the video have been publicly named, but charges are pending for the four that were apprehended. Brooklyn police are working to find the final suspect who is still at large.

City Council Member Laurie A. Cumbo suggested that the gang rape marks one of the most morally repugnant crimes ever committed in the city of New York and demanded change within the NYDP, which she believes has been complacent in regards to the safety of women.

“When an 18-year-old girl can get raped while walking with her father in a park by five men in Brownsville, New York, we have hit an all-time moral low in the City of New York.”

How do you think the NYDP should handle the horrific gang rape? How should the suspects be punished if they are found guilty?
