Comedian, British actor, and, not to forget to mention, the creator of The Office, Ricky Gervais hosts the 2016 Golden Globes tonight, Sunday, January 10.

Many are winning already and many more will win a Golden Globe award tonight. According to the Economic Times, many people say that the Golden Globes are just the start of the awards show season. In fact, they say that this awards ceremony is just the start when it comes to the brilliant actors and actresses who are getting a Golden Globe and that they will also win an Academy Award on Feb. 28.

Also, according to Tom O’Neill, who is the founder of the awards tracker, GoldDerby.com:

“So it’s considered your audition for the Oscar.”

Who will win tonight? The front runner for the Best Comedy is The Big Short which is a movie that is based on the book that was written all about the financial crisis of 2007-2008. More movies running in this category include Joy, Trainwreck, Spy, and The Martian. Who will take home a Golden Globe in this category? Can you make a prediction?

Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for his role in the movie The Revenant. He hasn’t won an Oscar yet, but it has been predicted that he will take his first award home for the strong role he played in this brilliant movie.

In fact, Tom O’Neill had this to say about DiCaprio winning an award tonight,

“There is a feeling that it’s his year. All 17 GoldDerby experts have him unanimously out front to win.”

Other nominations for best actor include Bryan Cranston for his awesome role as a 1940s screenwriter in the movie, Trumbo. Eddie Redmayne is up for a Golden Globe for his role as a transgender person in the movie, The Danish Girl. Will Smith was nominated for his amazing role in the movie, Concussion.

If you are wondering who is up for Best Actress, Cate Blanchett and Kate Mara have been nominated for their roles in Carol, Brie Larson was nominated for her role in The Room, and Alicia Vikander was nominated for The Danish Girl.

Two television series that are up for awards include Mr. Robot and Narcos. Mr. Robot is about a computer programmer and hacker, and Narcos is a show about a drug cartel.

As for the host, Ricky Gervais, he is a funny man who has hosted the Golden Globes previously and has already apologized ahead of time for the things he will say. He is upfront with his comedy and likes to roast the actors and actresses to make everyone laugh.
