SUV Goes Airborne Over Buckled Road [Video]

The scorching heat over the weekend caused highway 29 to buckle in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. But no one alerted this driver. A new video popped up online today showing an SUV going airborne after the driver fails to slowdown while driving over the badly damaged road.

According to CBS, Theresa Reich from Eau Claire pulled over to take photos of the road since it was in such bad shape. She accidentally caught amazing footage of the SUV getting airborne after striking one of the damaged piece of road, AKA the ramp.

Reich said:

“From the overpass we could see the big divots, but we’d stopped to take a picture of it because we’d seen a bunch of cars going over slowly, and scraping the underside of their cars. They were kind of lining up, checking the damage.:

Reich said that she called 911 immediately after the SUV hit the ramp. According to Fox 6, the SUV shot across the median after the accident and nearly crashed into oncoming traffic. There were two people in the car at the time of the near accident. Both were taken to the hospital complaining of back and neck pain.

Reich said:

“By the time I had exited picture mode… people were already walking out and dialing. We were pretty amazed that none of the oncoming traffic hit them too. Everyone seemed like they made it out ok… they were walking out of their car.”

Here’s the video of the SUV going airborne on highway 29.
