Kelly Clarkson’s Father-In-Law Reportedly Dating Someone After Recent Divorce
Kelly Clarkson’s father-in-law, Narvel Blackstock, is reportedly seeing someone new just weeks after the couple announced their split.
Blackstock was married to country star Reba McEntire for 25 years and was also her business manager, which some say is the reason for their split. The couple separated very quietly — McEntire just relayed the news to fans last month on social media — but continue to share their business, which also manages Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson met her husband, who is Narvel’s son, through the couple.
Narvel Blackstock is reportedly seeing Laura Putty Stroud, who was friends with him and McEntire when they were a couple. It’s unclear whether the rumors are true — or whether Reba is opposed to their relationship, given that she knows Stroud — but a source says they are serious about one another.
“It’s unclear when they started dating. The word on the street is that they’re getting married,” the source told FoxNews.
Kelly Clarkson, meanwhile, has had a busy but happy couple of years. The pop-country star suffered from severe, all-day sickness with her first pregnancy, which she described in interviews as “horrible”.
“I vomit a good dozen times a day. It’s, like, bad. I vomited before coming out here and I had a peppermint so you didn’t know. I’m not even kidding, it’s so bad. It’s so bad. I know it’s like so gross. And that’s the thing, too—you’re not attractive when you’re pregnant. Everybody tells you that you glow and your hair is pretty and your nails are pretty. That’s total crap. My nails are short, my hair still falls out; like it’s not all lush and beautiful, and I have no glow. Unless it’s, like, something left over from a bad throw up. It’s horrible,” Kelly told Ellen DeGeneres.
After her daughter was born, however, Clarkson and husband Brandon were clearly enamored, and Kelly obviously adored being a mom, often taking to Instagram to share photos of little River Rose.
This summer, Clarkson announced on the spur-of-the-moment that she was pregnant with baby number two, letting the news slip to the audience after she kept getting emotional during a performance of “Piece By Piece” because she didn’t want rumors to spread that there was another reason for her tears.
“I was not planning on announcing this but I’m totally pregnant,” Clarkson said. “I didn’t want you to think I was on pills or something! Everything is great. I haven’t vomited yet, that’s a win!”
As for Reba McEntire, the country icon says she’s not sure what the future holds for her now that she’s a single woman again. Reba recently spoke to The Boot, saying that things are mostly in God’s hands.
“I look forward to what’s next. People always ask me, ‘What are you going to do next?’ Well, I dunno; God hasn’t told me yet,” the country icon said. “God is my manager, my tour manager, my scheduler, everything, and He’ll come up with the greatest things. He’s the one who gave me Annie Get Your Gun and the Reba TV show and presents those things to me. And he always lets me have the choice of refusing and saying, ‘No, I don’t want to do that,’ but I know He’ll give it to someone else, so I always step up and say, ‘I’ll take it,'” McEntire said.
Reba also thanked her loyal fans for all their love and support not just during a difficult time, but over the years, as well. Over the summer, the singer released a new single called “Until They Don’t Love You,” which may be a telling song with what we now know.
