Hey, Blade Runner fans, wanna buy the Ennis house?

Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Ennis House is on the market, offered by Christie’s auction house for a mere $15 million dollars.

The house has starred in many films- in addition to Blade Runner, it can be seen in Black Rain, The Replacement Killers, The Karate Kid, Part III, The Thirteenth Floor, House on Haunted Hill and Rush Hour. The Ennis House was also featured in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Twin Peaks, and in the S Club 7 video for the song “Have You Ever.”

Intervening years have not been good to the property, and in 2005 the house was placed on the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s most-endangered list. Torrential rains and earthquakes have lead to decay and damage.

Current owners the Ennis House Foundation hope that a private owner can bestow upon the property the care and rejuvenation it deserves. Oh yeah, and an additional $5-7 million in repairs to restore the structure to its former glory.

The Ennis House is historically significant as one of only four “textile block” homes built by Frank Lloyd Wright, who died in 1959.
