The Weeknd, Bella Hadid Split? What’s Going On With The Couple

The Weeknd and Bella Hadid have gone their separate ways, according to a new report. The couple, who started dating earlier this year, decided to cool it on their relationship.

According to E! Online, the 19-year-old model and the 25-year-old singer-songwriter, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, are putting their relationship on pause. Alleged sources close to the couple say that they’re on a break at the moment.

“Bella and The Weeknd have taken a break. Their schedules got very busy and it really cut into their relationship. They are still in each other’s lives though, just not in the same exclusivity.”

According to the report, Bella Hadid and The Weeknd also didn’t spend the holidays together. Bella was with her mom, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster, sister Gigi Hadid, and younger brother Anwar Hadid, as seen in a recent photo that her mom posted on Instagram.

Last weekend, The Weeknd was spotted flirting with girls backstage at his concert in Miami, in which Bella did not attend, according to E! News. The media outlet was the first to confirm back in May that the couple was indeed dating, after they were spotted together at the 2015 Coachella Music Festival.

According to Life & Style magazine, the couple’s sudden split may have to do with a rumor that claims The Weeknd allegedly cheated with the up-and-coming model with two different women while they were dating. An insider told the tabloid that the R&B singer met the women, both 19, at an album release party for Beauty Behind the Madness back in August.

“He went to an after party at a private house in LA… he was making out with both of them, going back and forth. Then they disappeared into a bedroom together.”

Or, it could be the fact that The Weeknd is focused on his burgeoning music career. The “Can’t Feel My Face” singer dropped two new surprise songs on Christmas — “Low Life” with Future, and a remix of Jeremih’s “Pass Dat.” Earlier this month, he premiered his new music video, “In the Night,” where Bella Hadid starred as a sexy vixen with a gun.

The two stars have even spoken about each other in recent interviews. The Weeknd spoke to Rolling Stone magazine about how he met the young beauty. He coyly acknowledged that he wouldn’t had the chance to date Hadid if she was 16-years-old.

“It just kind of fell into my lap. If this had happened two years ago — well, she couldn’t. But if I’d met someone two years ago, I probably would’ve f***ed it up. But I’m more — how do I say it? — clear-thinking now.”

Bella Hadid opened up to the Evening Standard about her battle with Lyme disease. She also addressed the age difference in her relationship with The Weeknd. She admits that even though it’s weird, he’s been super supportive of her career and her disease. Bella also says that like herself, The Weeknd would rather stay at home than go out and party.

“He’s 25, but I think once you get over the 19 mark, then it’s not as weird. He’s really good about me being sick. He doesn’t really go out that much either these days. He’s always in the studio.”

Despite the recent reports and rumors, sources close to the couple told TMZ that “they are very much” together. The reason why they weren’t together during holidays is because Hadid simply wanted to spend time with her family.

A fan took to Instagram to share this clip of Hadid holding money and sitting on The Weeknd’s lap as he gave the camera the middle finger. They reportedly spend their Sunday evening together at LIV in Miami showing off their money, but neither of the stars have shared this intimate video on their own social media accounts.
