Miranda Lambert Slammed For Showing Off Fur Coat Christmas Gift: ‘It’s An Heirloom,’ Blake Shelton’s Ex Says

Miranda Lambert was slammed on Instagram when she showed off a gift she got from her grandmother on Christmas Day, Us Weekly reports. Lambert fans were furious with the 32-year-old country singer because the gift in question was a real fur coat.

“I’m so fancy… You already know,” she wrote as the caption of the photo, referencing “Fancy,” the hit song by Iggy Azalea. “My Nonny gave me two of her fur coats! I definitely know where I got my love for DIAMONDS, FUR and WHISKEY! #familytradition #grandmatreasures #besthandmedownever #wandathewanderer #bringitwinter.”

But many of the Miranda Lambert fans on Instagram didn’t think her gift was fancy at all.

“Sorry, I love you dearly, but I don’t agree with this,” one commenter wrote under the Instagram photo. “I don’t agree with animals dying for coats.”

“Fur is not fancy,” another Lambert Instagram follower wrote.

“Not cool for animal lover Miranda,” one other user commented.

But despite the backlash, there were a lot of comments that stood in support of Miranda Lambert and her decision to flaunt her fur coat.

“I never comment on celebrity profiles but this time I had to@mirandalambert,” a supportive Miranda fan wrote in the comments. “Don’t mind all the negativity. It’s very nice and more importantly it’s a heirloom, what a valuable piece of family history. I hope one day your daughter enjoys it as much as you do.”

And another user in support of Miranda Lambert had this to say: “OMG! It’s a free country to like what you want, stop posting your oppinions [sic] on someones eleses [sic] page! It’ no ones business! If you don’t like it, don’t look and it is Beautiful by the way!!!”

Miranda Lambert has not addressed the criticism directly and she hasn’t deleted the picture from her Instagram page. She did post a subsequent picture on Instagram: a collage that included a picture of herself and her grandmother and a snap of the lining of the fur coat where her grandmother’s name embroidered.

“Her name embroidered inside is priceless,” she wrote in the caption of the second post. “A family heirloom I will cherish forever.. I’m so thankful for her and all the things I have learned from her. Nonny is strong, beautiful, feisty and most of all, loving. #grandmatreasures #diamondsfurandwhiskey #wandathewanderer.”

Miranda Lambert may be getting criticized for wearing fur but it seems like she’s been doling out some criticism herself lately. Her targets? Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

According to a previous Inquisitr article, Lambert has called Gwen Stefani’s relationship with her ex-husband, Blake Shelton “ridiculous.” She seems, according to media reports, particularly disgusted by the couple’s public displays of affection.

“[Miranda Lambert] really just wants to move on, but Blake’s making it hard by flaunting his relationship with Gwen. She really thought the GIF of him kissing her over and over was really tasteless,” a source reportedly told Hollywood Life on December 22.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced that they were getting divorced in July of this year, and the announcement rocked the country music world. Shelton and Lambert had been married for 10 years.

But perhaps Miranda Lambert is moving on from Blake Shelton after all. According to a recent article in Hollywood Life, the “Little Red Wagon” singer is dating another country singer whose career is on the rise, Sam Hunt.

“They have developed a solid friendship and love flirting with each other,” an alleged insider source said. “He’s definitely helping her move on from Blake and that whole heartbreak.”

Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt are going on tour together in 2016.
