Khloé Kardashian To Continue Visiting Lamar Odom Over The Holidays — What Are Her Plans Moving Forward?

Lamar Odom has gone through a lot since he was found unconscious at a brothel back in October due to drug overdose, but now things are looking up for the NBA player, thanks in large part to his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian.

While Lamar’s ordeal is far from over, his cognitive and motor skills have recently shown signs of improvement. TMZ reported Tuesday that Lamar Odom took three steps all by himself. It was the first time Lamar was able to move at all without the help of a walker or an assistant since October. Better yet, he is reportedly doing better in recognizing people. Lamar being able to walk on his own was a pleasant surprise to doctors, and was undoubtedly a step in the right direction in terms of his recovery.

On top of these welcome developments in Lamar Odom’s health, People revealed Saturday that Khloé Kardashian will be spending the holidays with Lamar.

Of course, this can only mean that Khloé won’t be present at her family’s annual Christmas celebrations. The Christmas Eve bash, which is always held at Kris Jenner’s home every year, is as much a tradition as it is a holiday event for the Kardashian-Jenner clan. This only goes to show Khloé’s commitment in supporting Lamar on his way to recovery.

“The Lamar situation still weighs on Khloé. She’s not one who just walks away,” says the source. “She’s going to be there for him, but she also needs to start focusing back on herself – and she knows that.”

In that case, Khloé has certainly honored her promise to continue her support for Lamar Odom every step of the way.

“There is a very long road ahead of [Lamar],” she said in an interview with People back in October. “He has to walk that road by himself, and, most importantly, he has to want to walk that road. I will be there supporting him every step of the way.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality star has kept constant vigil at Lamar’s bedside for three-and-a-half months. But in November, she left his bedside to promote her new book Strong Looks Better Naked in San Diego. In an exclusive interview with The San Diego Union – Tribune, Khloé said that it was her family who convinced her tto “get out of the hospital and just for an hour, go to the gym and do something that’s for you.”

“I felt like ‘Oh my god, I’m OK. I’m a human again!’ I just felt so good,” said Kardashian in the interview. “But for those three-and-a-half weeks, I didn’t think about the gym because I was thinking about other things, and I don’t beat myself up about it.”

According to People’s source, Ms. Kardashian is looking forward to 2015 being over.

“She feels like the new year will bring new things, and she certainly deserves it,” the source said.

Which begs the question: Will Ms. Kardashian be ready to move on from Lamar as soon as he’s fully recovered? We can only speculate for now, but in a Sunday episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Khloé did refer to Odom as her “soulmate.” She added, however, that Lamar is “all talk and no action.”

“But Lamar is all talk and no action. For two years I’ve wanted Lamar to try. For two years I’ve wanted Lamar to show me some effort. But nothing ever changes. It definitely makes me sad because I still believe he is my soul mate. But right now I have to do what’s best for me.”
