Celebrity chef Katie Lee and musician Billy Joel are getting divorced after five years of marriage.
“After nearly five years of marriage, Billy and Katie have decided to separate” a statement made by the couple read. “This decision is the result of much thought and consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other.”
The marriage is Joel’s third marriage, with the piano man having previously been married to Christie Brinkley.
The much younger Katie Lee is believed to be in a relationship with fashion designer Yigal Azrouel, although it’s not clear whether the relationship is the cause of the divorce, or happened after the couple had already separated.

She wasn't a celebrity chef until he pulled strings to get her whatever fame and prominence she may have gleaned from the marriage.
So glad there is no child involved.
Billy deserves better-he gave her everything a more and then she goes blatantly screwing around on him.
Hope the pre-nup is air tight and she doesn't get a nickel more than the agreed amount.
Thankful that Billy and Alexa are so close. She will be his rock.
He also has many longtime, faithful friends that will help him through this difficult time.
Katie did pretty well for a college girl, fish monger, nobody from West Virginia.
Let's see how many of her socialite friends stick by her now that the Piano Man is out of the picture?
And Yigal is a womanizer- so she will find out about being hurt the hard way.
Just as Billy has been hurt-after giving so much to her.

It was over from the beginning due to the age difference – how do you date a woman who is the same age as your daughter?
Reminds me of Patrick Stewart who just recently came out of the closet with a young “girlfriend – At 31, Ozell is young enough to be Patrick Stewart’s grand-daughter and is also younger than his own children from his first marriage, Daniel, 41, and Sophie, 36.
When will these “stars” stop looking at shallow no-name younger gold digging women for partners and get someone you know – up to their level? Let’s hope Billy goes back with Christy.
