Kate Middleton’s Hairdresser Opens Up About Duchess’ Decision To Cut Her Hair Short And Her Style

Kate Middleton’s personal hair dresser has broken ranks and opened up about the Duchess Of Cambridge’s decision to cut her hair short, while also talking about her style.

Richard Ward, who has been Middleton’s hair dresser for around 12 years, explained to People that Kate went for a shorter look simply because of her hectic schedule, stating that it’s now much easier for her to sort her hair out before she has to take on her myriad of royal engagements.

“It’s a practical style and a great option for a mom who has had long hair, who has a busy life and is short on time,” Richard Ward, who was the one who chopped down Middleton’s hair, remarked. Insisting that the new style had made the Duchess even more “sophisticated,” he added, “It’s slightly more sophisticated but with all the benefits of long hair.”

Richard Ward also described Kate Middleton’s new hair as possessing “bouncy glamour” while still being “versatile” because it “still has the feeling of long hair.” Ward continued, “It has more bouncy movement because of the long layers and shorter length.”

It will also be very easy for Kate Middleton to maintain, too, as Ward insisted it only needs to be cut every six to eight weeks, while he insisted that it can “be kept in good condition with good quality shampoos and masques.”

And Richard Ward, who is currently promoting his Tangle Angel brushes down in Australia, believes that it won’t be too long before Kate Middleton’s new hair style is copied the world over.

“I’m sure the new style will be equally as popular, as her look will always be hugely followed and copied,” Ward added, before he then quipped, “If you look like she does, pretty much anything will suit you!”

Kate Middleton debuted her new hair during a charity appearance in London’s financial district on Wednesday. And it’s no surprise that the Duchess Of Cambridge entrusted Richard Ward with the hair cut, because she has been visiting him since her days in university.

Ward owns his own titular salon that is based in central London, and it’s not just Kate from the Middleton klan who visits the trendy barber, because her mother Carole often visits his establishment too.

Any time Kate Middleton has changed her hair style it was inevitably done by Richard Ward. Ward, alongside his former employee James Pryce, even orchestrated Kate Middleton’s wedding bouffant.

It’s no surprise Kate Middleton decided to go with such a shorter new hair style, because it’s been a rather busy end to the year for the Duchess Of Cambridge. Ever since she gave birth to Princess Charlotte back in May 2015, Middleton’s agenda has been packed with royal engagements.

Sure, she spent a couple weeks recuperating from her pregnancy, but since then she has visited an array of charities across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom. She has also planned Princess Charlotte’s christening as well as her 6-month birthday.

Now, Middleton has Christmas on the horizon, an event that she’ll be hosting at her Anmer Hall home alongside Prince William, while she also has to care for her 2-year-old son, Prince George, who has been constantly described by friends and family as “noisy.”
