Anne Hathaway’s ‘Crazy’ ‘Les Miserables’ Diet

Anne Hathaway has seemingly gone to the extreme to lose weight for her roles in “Les Miserables” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

Extra TV reports that Hathaway stated of her diet:

“I’m doing some crazy weight stuff right now. I’m on day six of detox… this diet makes me break out, so I love that. Nothing like living on hummus and radishes and then be all, ‘And I got a pimple. Yeah!'”

The “Devil Wears Prada” star will be playing Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) in the third installment of the Batman series, which opens July 20th. She had a few things to say about her costume, including calling it a “psychological terrorist. She stated, “…the suit, thoughts of my suit, changing my life so I would fit into that suit… it dominated my year. I went into the gym for 10 months and didn’t come out.”

Meanwhile, however, The Examiner reports that nutritional expert, Jackie Keller, stated:

“Hummus is a healthy food. Radishes are healthy foods. Kale is a healthy food. Alone or in combination, they don’t constitute a healthy diet — or a good way to lose weight, without additional foods.”

Keller has worked with Anne Hathaway in the past, and spoke about how the 29-year-old is balanced in her health regime, not believing that anyone needs to starve in order to maintain an extremely low weight. Keller added that:

“I’ve known Anne to have a well-rounded, balanced approach to vegetarian dietary principles, but can imagine that she feels extreme pressure to stay painfully thin. I also know that it is difficult, but possible, to maintain an extremely low weight without starving.”

What do you think of Anne Hathaway’s insane diet for “Les Miserables” and “The Dark Knight Rises?”
