Maci Bookout Owed $80,000 To The IRS: Claims MTV Didn’t Pay Her Well?

Maci Bookout has managed to stay out of the spotlight for the most part while filming Teen Mom. Maci is part of the original Teen Mom series, featuring Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood. And while some of the girls from the Teen Mom 2 franchise are doing well, making money and starting businesses, it sounds like Bookout hasn’t been following the rules.

While Maci Bookout can brag and boast about being a famous Teen Mom star, it sounds like she hasn’t been paying her taxes over the past couple of years. Apparently, she had various tax liens filed against her over the years. But one can imagine that Bookout had plenty of money in the bank, because she just settled all of the debt against her.

According to a new Radar Online report, Maci Bookout has now paid off more than $80,000 in federal tax liens. Apparently, the first tax lien for $78,308 was filed against her in 2013. Then, in 2014, and additional lien for $5,249 was filed. In other words, she owed over $80,000 in back taxes. Apparently, Maci didn’t take the tax liens all that seriously, because she didn’t pay them off for a while. Sources said that she was making little progress on the payments and that she was completely in denial about owing so much money.

And maybe it’s because she never got a lesson when it came to paying her taxes. Or maybe her parents let her handle the money herself and she could find other things she would rather spend her money on. Many have speculated that these Teen Mom stars make a lot of money. But Maci decided to open up in her new book about the money she makes on the show. As it turns out, she feels she got the rotten end of the stick.

“The fact is, my real life isn’t that much different from what it would have been without MTV,” Maci reveals in her book, Bulletproof, adding, “I still live in Chattanooga and go to Wal-Mart and buy bread and milk.”

But there are some benefits to being famous. Many of the Teen Mom stars have already figured out what the benefits are, as they have started various businesses. Kailyn Lowry has started several businesses and written a children’s book. And while Bookout may be a little late to the party, she has also decided to launch a clothing company with her boyfriend, Taylor McKinney. The TTM Lifestyle brand launched recently and it is clearly something that they are very excited about. But sadly, they didn’t get the best reviews from fans.

“Don’t know any clothing store that sells selective sizing like this?” one person said of the clothes, according to Radar Online, adding, “Makes zero sense.”

“Was super excited but pretty bummed you only carry up to size medium. Definitely disappointed,” another added.

“Way to make girls feel self-conscious!” a third chimed in.

It sounds like the sizes only run from an extra small to a medium, which doesn’t sit well with some fans. They wanted the options of having large and extra large, perhaps to have an easier fit. But the main concern about her new business venture is the price. The clothing line consist

“I love Maci, but I’m sorry $40 bucks for a tank top is outrageous,” a fan wrote, revealing that Maci would not have a customer here.

The prices have since dropped tremendously, but she could still be struggling with the prices and making the business run.

What do you think of Maci Bookout owing money to the IRS? Do you think the clothing company will save her?
