‘Game Of Thrones’ Jon Snow Spoilers, And Melisandre On How She Deals With Haters: ‘I Like To Threaten Them With A Shadow Baby’

Game of Thrones is both a television show and a book series that has truly captured the hearts and loyalty of fans everywhere. The TV series is getting ready to launch the sixth season of the show, which is set to premiere in April, 2016. A teaser poster has been released by HBO, and it shows the image of Jon Snow, thought to be dead as of the end of the fifth season. Obviously, he’s coming back!

Apparently, the Red Woman, Melisandre, is responsible, at least in large part, for Snow’s return in the new season of Game of Thrones. Carice Van Houten plays Melisandre in Game of Thrones, and the New Daily spoke with her about her role in Season 6. While Van Houten isn’t allowed to reveal much, she did share some information about her character.

“I was doing ADR the other day and then the producer was there and he was saying something that I’ve heard before, which is quite spectacular, for next year, which I really can’t say anything about.”

She also talked about how fans feel about her character.

“Some people really hate me, but I think they like to hate me, which is nice. What’s great to do is when someone is mean — and there’s ugly stuff on the internet sometimes — I tend to not go into it that much, but sometimes I like to threaten them with a shadow baby. It always works.”

The Independent reports that Kit Harington said earlier this year he was not done with Game of Thornes.

“Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over.”

Jon Snow is certainly not the first (or last) character in Game of Thrones to die, but perhaps his death has had the greatest impact. However, according to Bustle, there are a number of other characters who have died or simply vanished that need to be brought back. These include characters such as Gendry, Osha, The Hound, Lady Catelyn Stark, and Benjen Stark. It would be nice to see what has happened to many of these characters. High Snobiety shows a video of Game of Thrones characters fans have seen come and go.

But what about the Game of Thrones books? George R.R. Martin is the talented author behind the novels, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the publication of the sixth book in the series — The Winds of Winter – for more than four years! Martin has said that it is his goal to finish the book before the premiere of Season 6. That would be a treat, but that only gives him until April.

Of course, fans of the book will still be disappointed. As reported by Parent Herald, by the time the book hits bookshelves, the show will have revealed its contents, because the showrunners know what happens in the future of the series. On the blog Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire, BryndenBFish wrote his opinion of the release date of the next book.

“If you cornered me, put a gun to my head and told me to tell you how many completed manuscript pages are done for The Winds of Winter, I’d probably say that George is just north of 1000 manuscript pages with an expected completion date of late 2016 to early 2017.”

It appears fans will just have to wait and see when the next Game of Thrones book makes its appearance. At least they know when Season 6 will begin.
