Chris Pine Interested in Giving Fifty Shades of Grey a Look

Over the past few months Hollywood and  “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans have been speculating who will be up for the elusive, powerful, conflicted character of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the erotica novel by E.L. James. Now it looks like actor Chris Pine is at least willing to take a look at the script to see if it’s any good.

During press for his new film People Like Us, the star said rumors of him possibly fitting the bill for Christian Grey only came from an innocent question on a red carpet event, saying, “The only reason this came out is because I was asked on the red carpet in Las Vegas if I had read it, or if I was interested in it,” Pine told the Associated Press.

He continued to explain the chaotic environment of red carpet questions, stating, “Just as you do on red carpets as people throw questions at you, you try and answer as quickly as possible, but I don’t know anything about it other than I know many women that are reading the novels, and enjoy them very much.”

However, when pressed on the pending adaptation by Access Hollywood, it seems as though Pine is at least willing to humor his fans and housewives alike stating, “It’d be a hell of a choice for me, I think. It sounds like an interesting film.” adding, “If it’s a good script, I’d take a look at it,  but I don’t know anything other than that.”

In the past Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder has expressed interest in the coveted role of Christian Grey. Back in May Somerhalder said to Ryan Seascret,  “I think it would be an amazing thing.” However earlier today the actor tweeted, “I probably won’t  even get to audition for the role.”
