Adele’s Boyfriend ‘Doesn’t Care About The Style Of Music’ That She Makes

If Adele’s record-breaking release of her album, 25, is any indication, there are millions of people who care about the kind of music Adele makes.

Adele’s boyfriend, Simon Konecki, just isn’t one of them.

But according to a recent interview on 60 Minutes, even Adele’s boyfriend loved 25.

“He cares about me more than anything, but he doesn’t care about the style of music that I make and stuff like that and he just loved it.”

Speaking to Liz Hayes, Adele added “that was the real test.”

The fact that Adele’s boyfriend generally doesn’t like her type of music doesn’t seem to impact their relationship at all. In fact, if Adele’s comments in her recent 60 minutes interview are any indication, she doesn’t care at all that Konecki prefers to listen to a different style of music.

The 27-year-old songstress called her relationship with Simon “an amazing relationship,” and she credits Konecki’s support for her success. Adele and Simon have been together since 2011 and have one son, Angelo, together.

“Being in such an amazing relationship with someone that’s so there for me and so loyal and is really part of my core now, that’s what made me write about everything I’ve ever done, because I’ve got his love.”

During the same interview, Adele went on to tell Liz Hayes that she and Konecki share the “ultimate love story.”

“I know that sounds a bit like I’m trying to write a Hollywood movie, but it’s only because of him and because of our kid and stuff that I’m all right.”

Adele, who took a multi-year hiatus from music to focus on her relationship, is known for being notoriously closed about her family life.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Adele wants to let her son have the opportunity to live a normal life and make his own decisions, so she wants to try to keep him out of the spotlight.

“I don’t want that for [Angelo] until he can start making his own decisions. Right now he can choose if he wants a bag of crisps or a banana, but he can’t make a choice about being in the public eye. If when he’s 16 he wants to be known for being my child, he can do that. But right now he’s very much a minor, and we have vowed to make that decision for him.”

Like his father, Angelo just isn’t that into Adele’s singing, she told iHeartRadio.

As it turns out, Angelo and Simon could be among a small list of music fans who aren’t interested in Adele’s music.

The British crooner’s newest album, which was released on Friday, is on track to sell 2.5 million albums during the first week, which would break the previous first-week record held by NSYNC. The boy band set the record more than 15 years ago when No Strings Attached sold more than 2.42 million albums in the first week. Already, 25 has sold more than 900,000 copies on iTunes.

Already, Adele smashed Taylor Swift’s Vevo record with her single, “Hello.” During the first 24 hours “Hello” was released, the song was viewed more than 27.7 million times on Vevo. Previously, “Bad Blood” had held the 24-hour record, with 20.1 million views.

Adele’s “Hello” also became the video to hit 100 million views on the service, the fastest in just five days. Previously, the record of six days had been held by Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” video.
