Battleship actress Rihanna has no intentions on slowing down when it comes to adding to her ever increasing collection of tattoos.
The singer, who earlier this year picked up a tiny cross tattoo on her collarbone and the phrase “thug life” across her knuckles, showed off her latest piece of body art on Saturday via Twitter posting a shot of a gun-shaped Egyptian Falcon tatted on the inside of her right ankle.
“Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes during sleep,” the singer tweeted Saturday, along with a photo of her tat.
Us Weekly reports that the new tattoo — RiRi’s 16th — was done by Bang Bang, a New York-based artist who has handled several of the singer’s tattoos in the past.
“It’s the first tattoo she wanted as a teen,” Bang Bang said of his latest creation, which he revealed covered up one of Rihanna’s earlier tats. “She wanted it across her back back then.”
The artist added: “We must have gone over hundreds of tattoo ideas together over the years.”

In addition to adding to her ink collection and working on her seventh studio album, Rihanna may also be preparing for an upcoming interview with iconic talk show host Oprah Winfrey.
While specifics on the episode still remain unclear at this time, Winfrey confirmed that superstar singer will be interviewed some time in August.
