#RHOA Trends On Twitter As Kandi Burruss Announces Contest [Spoilers]

On Sunday evening, Twitter noted that #RHOA was a trending topic, with 46,600 tweets about the Real Housewives of Atlanta episode coming into the social media site. As what happened in the previous week’s episode of RHOA, Porsha Williams’ new 24-year-old boyfriend Duke was a big storyline on the show. With some RHOA viewers keeping up with the real-time happenings of the reality show participants, they noted that it was difficult to watch Williams bragging about her young boyfriend while knowing the duo would eventually split.

While the #RHOA was trending, one popular tweet coming from Kandi Burruss led viewers to her Instagram account and a new contest that Burruss was offering fans who wanted to win products from her “Bedroom Kandi” line.

Another big topic from the latest RHOA episode was the on-going demise of the friendship between Phaedra Parks and Kandi. Once pretty close friends, the two women found themselves at odds as both of them went through big changes in their lives. Parks found herself in turmoil when her husband, Apollo Nida, was sent to prison. In one scary scene from last season’s RHOA, Apollo approached Phaedra as she stood inside their garage. He wielded a drill in his hand in a way that felt threatening to Parks, so she told him to get away from her with “all that” mess.

In the meantime, Kandi was dealing with her own issues in trying to keep her marriage to Todd strong after surviving her mother’s opposition to their union. Eventually, Kandi and Todd were able to overcome both “Mama Joyce” and their infertility struggles. This season, Kandi’s growing belly on RHOA proves that their IVF treatments were successful.

Either way, Parks felt that Kandi wasn’t there for her as much as some of the other RHOA cast mates were. On top of that, Todd expressed to Kandi that Parks still owed him money for the “Phine Body” exercise video venture that didn’t pan out in their failed business venture. All these issues left a strain on the RHOA friendship that only time will tell if it will be repaired.

Meanwhile, Porsha’s sister Lauren announced her pregnancy via RHOA, and Twitter users are noting that Williams’ reaction to her sister’s news was more self-focused than anything else. The additional cast member Kim Fields, the longtime popular actress known best for her role in the Facts of Life as the roller-skating Tootie, should prove for a delightfully interesting mix with the rest of the RHOA crew. RHOA fans are calling Fields out of place, if anything for Fields enjoying a seemingly successful business, marriage and family. One major irony of shows like RHOA and Basketball Wives is that a good portion of the women featured on the shows aren’t actually married.

Williams is always a funny source of entertainment on RHOA, with Porsha once believing — perhaps like many others before her — that the Underground Railroad was an actual train that ran underground, transporting slaves to freedom in Canada. Viewers are calling Porsha falling all over Duke pretty embarrassing, and are creating memes to represent their feelings on the matter.

Another recurring storyline on RHOA has been whether or not Parks will take her sons to see their father in prison.
