‘Real Housewives’ Star Kandi Burruss: Todd’s Mother Wanted Pregnancy More Than Anything

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is back on the show, and she has plenty of news to share. Of course, Kandi and her husband, Todd Tucker, had tried everything to become pregnant, and they shared their fertility struggles last season. The couple went to a fertility doctor in hopes of getting some help, and both of them got tested to see if everything was working as it should.

Both Kandi and Todd have been very vocal during the Real Housewives of Atlanta offseason about their efforts to get pregnant. So when it finally worked for them, Kandi was over the moon. And while she is busy celebrating with Todd that they will welcome a baby boy in a few months, they are also looking for a baby name. Apparently, they want some serious contenders for the Burruss-Tucker empire, and they are still working through the name suggestions.

According to a new Instagram post, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is now revealing that there is a sad side to this pregnancy. Tucker’s mother really wanted another grandchild, but she passed away from a stroke almost a year ago. Sadly, Tucker won’t get to share this journey with his mother, and he shared a sweet message about his mother last night on Instagram.

“That’s baby Tucker!!! It’s a BOY!!! I wish my mom was here for this! She wanted this more than anything!!! But I know she see’s everything that’s happening and she’s happy and proud of us!!! #Blessed #MamaSharon,” Todd revealed on Instagram, which was then shared by Kandi.

Clearly, these two are trying to celebrate everything that’s to come on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but it is an emotional time to celebrate something that his mother would have loved to see. Sharon Tucker died suddenly in December last year from a stroke. On the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, he explained that he had tried to get a hold of his mother all day and eventually asked a neighbor to check on her.

“Today I lost my partner, my ride or die my best friend! I don’t know what to do? I’m lost! My heart hurts so much! She was a fighter, a warrior for her son! It was me and her against the world! She’s in a better place!! Mom I love you to death! Rest in peace!” he revealed on Instagram after learning of the news, according to People magazine.

Even though the family had some rocky times, as shown on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi also shared her own message about Sharon’s death at the time.

“Our family has suffered a terrible loss,” Burruss revealed on her own Instagram, adding, “She was fun, energetic, loving and caring…. [Todd] talked to her every morning…. It’s hard losing people that you love but when it comes out of the blue with no warning it just makes it that much harder… I’m still in shock.”

The couple still has Kandi’s mother, Mama Joyce, to rely on when it comes to babysitting. Even though Kandi is thrilled to still have her mother around, one can imagine that she is heartbroken over losing Mama Sharon last year, especially now that she is pregnant with the couple’s first child. A son will be entering the family shortly. It will interesting to see how things unfold on this season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
