Ian Somerhalder And Nikki Reed Arguing Over Nina Dobrev’s Return To ‘The Vampire Diaries’?

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed’s relationship is apparently in trouble after news surfaced that Somerhalder’s ex-girlfriend is making a return visit to The Vampire Diaries. According to Youth Health Magazine, the couple’s relationship is reaching a breaking point as the two continue to argue over a number of issues, including Dobrev’s involvement on the show and Somerhalder’s desire to have children.

While fans have reacted with excitement over the idea that Dobrev would be making a short return to the hit series, KDrama Stars is reporting that things on set have been tense. In order to silence these reports, Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) recently explained to TV Insider that Dobrev’s character would continue to be a part of the series.

“Elena’s still a very big part of the story,” he stated in the interview. “Her body’s in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up. We all had imagined this complete reboot where Elena was gone, but she’s talked about so much!”

With Dobrev seemingly set for a cameo on the show at some point in the upcoming season, her appearance isn’t going over well with Somerhalder and Reed. In fact, the idea that the two are working together again is only putting more strain on their already troubled relationship.

Along with dealing with his past girlfriend and the idea that they will be working together, the two are currently arguing over Somerhalder’s desire to start a family. This has put Somerhalder at odds with Reed, who is wanting to concentrate more on her career than a family.

“Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now,” and inside source told OK Magazine.

For his part, Somerhalder is more than eager to start a family with Reed. With that in mind, the Vampire Diaries star recently talked about the matter with ET and revealed his long held desire to have a family of his own.

“Oh, hell yes! Absolutely, You know, it’s all about practice…” he told the outlet after being asked if he wanted kids. “It’s not practice makes perfect — it’s perfect practice. It’s the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something, It’s a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world — but I really can’t wait to do it and really just love it.”

Apparently, Reed doesn’t share the same sentiments towards having children. This has not only put a great strain on their relationship, but Dobrev’s re-appearance in Ian Somerhalder’s life has also contributed to their multitude of problems.

To add more potential arguing points to their relationship, KDrama Stars is also reporting that Dobrev is using her new relationship with Austin Stowell as a way to make Somerhalder jealous. Dobrev and Stowell recently announced that they are now together via social media, to which Somerhalder and Reed did not respond.

What becomes of the relationship between Reed and Somerhalder is yet to be seen. With all of the rumors circulating about the two, it is unclear if they will be able to stick it out and work through their differences or decide to end things for good.

If they do decide to call it quits, then perhaps Somerhalder and Dobrev will get back together again. This could end up happening considering that the two will likely be working together on the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries.

At the same time, neither Somerhalder nor Reed have addressed any of these rumors concerning their relationship.
