Caitlyn Jenner Is Young Thug’s First Follow On Instagram
It’s safe to say by now that Thug is an Enigma, and the reasons are many: he’s a highly publicized rapper, that seemed to rise off the mean streets of Atlanta in no time, and he doesn’t seem to follow a lot of the traditional rules for men, especially cultural mores or black rappers in American music. He’s known to wear womens’ clothing and even has been reported to be bisexual, which he doesn’t deny, although his fiancee’ is in fact a female. He has frequently tweeted or posted on Instagram his love of fellow rappers such as Gucci Mane, who was serving time for assault.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Thugger even showed his intense admiration of Gucci Mane by getting a similar ice cream tattoo on his cheek, the same of which Gucci sports. Although Thug has a ton of followers and follows a lot of people, the number one person he follows is Caitlyn Jenner, who used to be known as Bruce Jenner, the decathlon who wowed the American Public during the the 1980s Olympics. Since that time, he has announced that he feels he is a woman and has begun the transformation process to be a woman, complete with a name change and complete wardrobe and hair makeovers. BET reports that Young Thug identifies with Caitlyn Jenner on some level, maybe due to his lack of conformity to societal norms?
Thug has been clear that he doesn’t wish to be labelled – ever. He wears skinny jeans, he calls his male friends “bae,” he is also known to have a heavy rap sheet with the law, so don’t be fooled that he’s simply a girly princess. Allegedly, he has been indicted on the April shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus. Although nobody was injured, Young Thug and his record-label owner, Birdman, who is a close friend of Thug’s and now enemy of Lil Wayne’s, have both been allegedly indicted in the shooting. That’s not the end of Thug’s problems with the law, either. Over the summer, he allegedly had a run in with mall security in Atlanta, where he informed the security officer that he was going to “shoot him” according to police records. This happened as a result of some type of alleged disturbance caused by Young Thug and his entourage in the mall. By the time police arrived, Young Thug was gone, but they obtained a warrant to search his home, which resulted in five drug charges against Young Thug. Despite this, he has been given permission by the court system to tour, including in Europe, where he has been particularly well received.
Of course, Young Thug following Caitlyn Jenner simply may mean he admires Jenner’s decision to be himself, which is a quality that Thug has repeatedly seemed to admire and emulate. He has said before that he enjoys when others talk about him, so it is possible it is a publicity stunt as well, though he seems to have more than enough publicity these days. According to another article by BET, Young Thug keeps his circle tight, but that circle most definitely involves Caitlyn Jenner. He has even said, “Caitlyn Jenner is my hero.” Whether this is due to her athletic prowess, courage to come out as a woman, or both, he has not been shy about his feelings. It’s unknown if Jenner returns the love, but a possible meet up between the two would likely prove interesting.
Both individuals seem to garner massive attention from the public for their commonality of breaking stereotypes and being unafraid to pave a new road that others have not traveled. Perhaps this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
