Ed Sheeran Drunk While Hosting EMAs? See His Inappropriate Live Comments To Ruby Rose

Ed Sheeran is apparently an ordinary human being – he drinks alcohol occasionally as well. The singer was accused of being drunk while hosting the MTV European Music Awards with Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose, according to the Daily Mail.

What gave away the inebriated state of the 24-year-old singer, who took home two awards himself – for best live act and best world stage – was his louder-than-usual behavior.

In particular, Ed Sheeran played a game of “hide the banana” with 29-year-old co-host Ruby Rose and complimented her on her “p***y” while she was talking about cats. Viewers commented on his unusual awkwardness and noticed him with a drink in the hands several times throughout the evening.

At the very beginning of the MTV EMAs ceremony, Ruby Rose made a joke that she was as cute as a kitten, and Ed Sheeran said out of the blue “That’s a beautiful p***y.” It seems Ed Sheeran’s fans were not expecting a comment like that!

Speaking about the new Tori Kelly album, the allegedly drunk singer said, “Promo promo promo, buy that s***!”

At the ceremony, Ed Sheeran and Rudimental performed the single “Lay it All on Me,” which is likely to see some love on the Billboard charts soon.

According to Billboard, Ed Sheeran was standing on an elevated platform, and there were graphic boom box stereos on the background. The MTV EMAs viewers noted that despite possibly being drunk, Ed Sheeran gave a confident vocal performance.

Meanwhile, Rudimental delivered a great performance, too. Using guitar, keys, and a drum machine, the drum and bass band greatly assisted the singer in delivering a truly remarkable performance.

At the end of the ceremony, the two hosts of the evening sat on a sofa, complimenting one another on a job well done. The Australian actress then told Ed, “I think you’re drunk,” as reported by the Independent. And it didn’t seem as if he was trying to argue with her. Instead, he focused his attention on eating pasta.

It was earlier reported by the Mirror that Ed Sheeran is apparently done dating celebrities after a few failed romances. The singer was previously rumored to be dating Nicole Scherzinger.

Ed Sheeran previously told the Sun that he has learned the hard way that avoiding the public eye is the secret to success when dating a celebrity.

“I’ve learned a lot of things being in this industry by doing things right – and doing things wrong. One thing I’ve learned is mixing the public with the personal life always ends in tears… so I’m not going to talk about that side of things [any longer].”

In other news, the Mirror reported that Ed Sheeran paid off his friend’s mortgage by letting her be a part of his most recent album. Turns out, childhood friend Amy Wadge helped him write “Thinking Out Loud,” the song that rocked Billboard charts several times.

Ed Sheeran wrote the track during a session he organized as a favor to Amy, who has having financial issues at the time.

“She was going through financial troubles about a year ago,” Ed Sheeran said, as reported by the Mirror.

He added that Amy drove to his house when the album was nearly done.

“She asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.”

Ed Sheeran agreed, and that’s when they wrote “Thinking Out Loud.”

“Now she never has to worry about money again,” he remarked.
