Nintendo Wii U To Feature Zombies, Shooting And General Gore

When Nintendo debuted the original Wii console the company focused on family friendly games that played nice with the company’s new motion controller technology and offered fun for everyone. In the meantime Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 users stuck to their gore filled consoles for much of their gaming enjoyment.

Now with a more graphic intensive gaming console the Nintendo Wii U is setup to bring in the gore. When the console debuts later this year Nintendo will take advantage of the action-game market, violence included.

While the Super Mario Bros. and other family friendly games will still be featured front and center on the Nintendo Wii U console the company has also revealed games such as ZombiU.

Nintendo’s strategy to feature violence packed games could pay off. The Sony Playstation 4 and a new Xbox system are not due out until late 2013 which means Nintendo Wii U players may jump ship to take advantage of new action games while they wait possibly a full year for new systems to come out from other manufacturers.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal Reggie Fils-Aime, president of the company’s Nintendo of America division said of the company’s new focus:

“We want to create a platform that satisfies the needs of the active gamer and the entry gamer.”

Adding blood, guts and gore to their gaming system is not a new prospect for Nintendo, if you know what this code means (A, B, A, C, A, B, B) you are probably very much aware of Nintendo’s “blood code” past.
