WWE News: Plans For Triple H At ‘Wrestlemania 32’ — Alternate Opponent Revealed

The current plan for Triple H at Wrestlemania 32 calls for “The Game” to wrestle The Rock, but if that match does not happen, Seth Rollins is the alternate opponent, according to Daily Wrestling News.

At this point, Triple H vs. The Rock is “penciled in” for Wrestlemania 32 next year. However, with The Rock’s busy filming schedule and other obligations, there is always the chance that “The Great One” may not be available for the big event. That is where the current WWE World Heavyweight champion Rollins comes into the picture.

Triple H could wrestle Seth Rolllins at Wrestlemania 32.

Triple H reportedly wants to have a match with Rollins at some point, whether it be at Wrestlemania or some other time. Prior to this latest rumor, there were rumblings of a Triple H vs. Seth Rollins match taking place earlier this year at SummerSlam. But those plans were obviously scrapped as Rollins went on to defeate John Cena to become a dual champion — while Triple H did not wrestle on the show.

Yet, the seeds for a potential feud between these two have been planted long ago. While The Authority has run roughshod through the WWE, Rollins, under the tutelage of Triple H, has been Mr. Money in the Bank, WWE World Heavyweight champion, United States champion, among other things. Despite that success, animosity between these two has been hinted at, most notably during Rollins’ feud with Sting.

Therefore, when the WWE decides to pull the trigger on the Rollins vs. Triple feud, they will have a lot of backstory to build off. The only thing that might present a challenge is deciding on who is the “good” guy and the “bad” guy in the feud. Both men currently portray “heels” or “bad guys” on television, meaning somebody may have to turn to the good side to make a potential feud work.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of the Miami Herald, Rollins talked about working with Triple H and the best advice he has given him, advice he will need to heed when they square off.

“Triple H has been incredible to work with. Triple H is the ‘Cerebral Assassin.’ His best advice to me is to make sure you always, always come out on top.”

Just how a potential Rollins vs. Triple H match has steam behind it, the Triple vs. The Rock match has been in the making for about a year. It all began in a pre-taped backstage segment that aired last year, showing both men reflecting on their good times and then taking shots at each other. Then, at Wrestlemania 31, The Rock confronted both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in the ring.

The Rock vs. Triple H is penciled in for Wrestlemania 32

The Rock did not come alone, as he brought in UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey out of the crowd and into the ring to even up the odds. Rousey proceeded to hip toss Triple H and lock McMahon in an armbar, giving the California audience a Wrestlemania moment to remember.

With Rousey’s inclusion, that led to speculation of a potential tag team match pitting The Rock and Rousey against Triple H and McMahon or singles matches featuring The Rock vs. Triple H and Rousey vs. McMahon. But a few weeks ago, Rousey confirmed that she will not be at Wrestlemania 32 due to movie commitments (via Pro Wrestling Scoops).

This news left just The Rock and Triple H to settle their business on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” next year in a one-on-one scenario. Or, if they don’t get that chance, we could see a teacher vs. student type of match since Triple H has worked closely with Rollins ever since he signed with the WWE five years ago.

No matter the match, Triple H is all but a lock to wrestle at Wrestlemania 32.
