Lamar Odom Tragedy: Kobe Bryant Supposedly Left Game To Rush To Vegas Hospital To Be By His Bedside
Many people are heartbroken over Lamar Odom being found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday. The ex-NBA player is said to be fighting for his life in a hospital in Las Vegas. His former team members are saddened by the news, especially good friend Kobe Bryant. It is being reported that Bryant ended up leaving the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game to be by his side.
Everyone thought that Kobe had suffered an injury during the third quarter of the game being played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. However, it turns out that he left for a different reason. He was said to have flown out to Vegas, as reported by Fox Sports. It was also confirmed by a Twitter post from Los Angeles Lakers beat reporter Mark Medina. L.A. Lakers’ general manager Mitch Kupchak was said to have gone to be with Lamar, as well.
Odom had apparently been partying for a few days before this tragedy at Dennis Hoff’s Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada. He was found by two of the girls lying face down and unconscious. They had tried putting him in a helicopter, but he was too tall to fit in the one that was available at that time, so he was rushed to the medical facility by ambulance.
Lamar Odom had apparently taken an herbal form of Viagra several times during his stay at the ranch and was said to be drinking alcohol before this all happened. Owner Dennis Hoff said that Lamar was just there to have a good time and had retreated to his room for a while, as most celebrities do. He was also told by paramedics that his condition wasn’t looking good, as reported by ABC News.
The 35-year-old former basketball star also has support from his soon-to-be ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian. She had immediately flown out to be with him as soon as she got word, along with some other members of the reality TV family. Even though they are still in divorce proceedings at this time, Khloe still cares about her husband and she is there holding his hand through this.
The couple married in 2009 after just a month-long relationship and seemed happy until allegations of Odom’s drug use and infidelity caused the Kardashian daughter to file for divorce in 2013.
Many prayers are being said for Lamar Odom after word spread that he wasn’t doing well. His immediate condition is not known right now, but according to TMZ, Lamar is in a coma and has damage to his heart, lungs, and kidneys. He is also not able to breathe on his own at this time. Coach Byron Scott had this to say about Lamar after Tuesday’s game.
“Our heart and thoughts and prayers are with Lamar and his family and I wish him all the best That’s obviously something you don’t want to hear before the game.”
His former teammates and good friends took to social media to give their support for Odom and to offer their own thoughts and prayers for him and his family. Metta World Peace was pretty choked up about this after he heard about what happened to Lamar. All he could say was that he had no words that would make any sense. Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade offered his thoughts on this terrible situation.
“PRAYERS all the way UP for my brother Lamar Odom!!!I can’t help but to be up right now… THINKING about my ex teammate/ friend LO.. On my knees praying…please God let him pull thru..”
More details will officially emerge later on about his condition. For now, all anyone can do is to pray that he will pull through this with the help of those that love and care for him.
