Dawnguard Coming to Xbox 360 June 26

We recently heard that Dawnguard, the first major DLC for Skyrim, would be getting a beta on the Xbox 360, which suggested that the expansion was nearing closer to release. As it turns out, it is.

Earlier today, Bethesda confirmed that Dawnguard will be releasing on the Xbox 360 on June 26. A PC and PlayStation 3 release is expected to follow a month later, but Bethesda hasn’t set the date on other platforms in stone just yet.

Additionally, Bethesda dropped the first details on just what’s going on in Skyrim‘s first DLC. Dawnguard will introduce a new faction of nefarious vampires, along with their vampire-hunting enemies, the Dawnguard. The DLC also adds a number of new features, including new weapons, new items, and, perhaps best of all, mounted combat.

For those of you applied to the Dawnguard beta, Bethesda says that you should be receiving a code in your e-mail within a week or so to download the DLC. As previously mentioned, the code is the full version of the expansion, meaning you won’t need to purchase it on June 26 if you’re one of the lucky few selected to participate in the beta.

In case you missed it, you can check out the recently released Dawnguard trailer directly below.
