Heather Dubrow On Why She Hasn’t Divorced Terry Over ‘RHOC’
Heather Dubrow has been on the show for a couple of seasons now, but this Real Housewives of Orange County star doesn’t have marital troubles like many of her co-stars. In fact, Heather and Terry may bicker over smaller things, including finishes on their mansion or Heather’s drawing of trees in the home, but the two are nowhere near a divorce. So, how come Dubrow has managed to beat the Bravo curse, while her co-stars are facing divorces?
Heather Dubrow may not have as much to worry about as the other housewives. With a bank account full of money, the Dubrows may have less stress. Plus, they seem very supportive of one another, no matter what the task. It could be a new product, a new idea, a drawing from the home — it doesn’t matter. Heather and Terry will happily support and encourage one another.
According to a new Radar Online report, Heather Dubrow is now revealing her secret to a happy marriage. As it turns out, separate bathrooms and having fun together is all that is needed.
“We have separate bathrooms. That keeps our marriage alive!” Dubrow revealed in an interview with the website, adding, “Honestly, it has been pretty simple. We love each other. We have fun together. We work together. We are writing a book together. We are super grateful and love our kids immensely. We are just at a particularly fun period in our lives.”
Of course, Heather and Terry have outlasted many Orange County couples who came on the show and divorced. Vicki Gunvalson divorced Don while filming the show, and Tamra Barney settled her divorce from Simon Barney away from the cameras. More recently, Shannon Beador and David almost divorced over an affair. But Heather explains that she and Terry were fine before the reality show, and they will be fine after.
“We were really good before TV and we will be good after. It is hard to be on TV. It is hard to maintain your relationship on TV. Like everyone, we had to navigate that. Then we realized, ‘We are not people on TV. We are just us.’ Then we were fine,” Heather said while at an Evine Live event this week at Villa Blanca in Beverly Hills.
Of course, fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County only see a fraction of their lives on the show. Heather Dubrow and Terry do take time for themselves away from their four children to have some alone time. Maybe date night and bonding is what is keeping these two together.
“We really are just regular people. We do have extraordinary lives, but we don’t buy into it,” Terry revealed, adding, “We’re go out people. We go out alone. We hang out with the kids a lot, but we love to go out alone. We try to find a balance between spending a lot of times with the kids and spending a lot of time alone.”
Or maybe these two are going strong because Heather stays true to who she is. In a town where women are getting surgery to reach a certain beauty standard or a certain breast size, Dubrow is proud to say that she hasn’t had a breast augmentation. Dubrow doesn’t have implants, and she is probably the only woman on the show who hasn’t had any surgery to enhance her chest. Even though her husband is one of the best surgeons in the country, she prefers her natural look. And maybe Terry appreciates this.
