Neil Diamond Admits He’s A High Maintenance Husband

Neil Diamond feared that marriage just wasn’t for him after two divorces, because he believed he was too “high maintenance” to make a marriage work.

The 70-year-old singer found love again in the form of his manager, Katie McNeil, 42, whom he married recently, according to The San Francisco Chronicle. He believes that McNeil is the woman he will spend the rest of his life with, because she is, according to the “Sweet Caroline” singer, “up to the task of being my wife.”

Diamond told People that following his two previous marriages, he was worried he just wasn’t cut out for marriage. He stated:

“I had every possible chance to do it right. Both are spectacular women…I felt if I couldn’t make something wonderful and lifelong happen with them, then maybe I wasn’t capable of it. But I’m throwing myself back in because I like being married. I don’t want to end this whole fabulous journey alone.”

Neil Diamond now says, however, that:

“I want someone by my side who I love and who loves me. I’ve finally found somebody who’s up to the task of being my wife, because I’m very high maintenance.”

When she first met her husband, McNeil stated that she was conflicted about the developing relationship, despite how she felt for him. She stated, according to the New York Post, that:

“Part of me said, ‘Don’t get involved; he’s a client.’ There are a lot of complications for a lot of reasons. But our chemistry grew into something that couldn’t be denied.”

Neil Diamond, who married Katie McNeil on April 21, states that so far, their marriage is going well.
